My first visit to Metlife and I had the time of my life. Great time tailgating, the stadium was amazing and I can't wait to go again!
Liked: Friendly staff; clean; fun.
Disliked: Leaving stadium after game didn't seem very organized with directing traffic.
Dianne, Brandon, VT
The whole place was just awesome. We loved the whole experience. The people were so friendly and for such a huge crowd, it was so organized getting in and out. Absolutely incredible time - we will be back!
Liked: Clean bathrooms.

Get practising your New Jersey accent. MetLife is on the other side of the Hudson River and locals may get offended if you call them New Yorkers. If a bite of the Big Apple is what you're after, you can drive to Manhattan in 25 minutes (though traffic can massively vary) or else hop on the train. Based in the Meadowlands of the MetLife Sports Complex, the stadium is home to the New York Giants and New York Jets football teams. Guided tours take groups around the famous structure which is the largest in the NFL.
Circle Line Cruises
For the full-on tourist experience, see New York, New York by boat. The Statue of Liberty, Harlem, Gracie Mansion, that little red lighthouse... Options and prices vary but a two and a half hour tour will probably set you back around $40.
For the exact opposite of a rock concert, head to the quiet greenery of Riverside Park. Views of the Hudson make a nice spot for a walk or even, dare we say it, a picnic. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks might remember it well - the park is where they shot some scenes for the 1998 film 'You've Got Mail'.
Redd's Bar and Restaurant
When it comes to a pre-concert spot, this place is a winner. The menu offers a good choice of 10oz burgers, along with soups, salads and pastas. Once it gets close to concert time, jump on a shuttle bus to the venue and collect your car later.
New Park Tavern
This restaurant's thin crust pizzas and pies make for an easy snack. And it's only a ten-minute drive from the stadium.
Okay, so it's part of a big chain. But this Mexican restaurant serves up fresh food with little waiting time. Enjoy crispy corn tacos, creamy guacamole and options for veggies including organic tofu; all just five minutes away in the car.
This bar is a bit further afield (around 20 minutes) in downtown Monclair. The trip might just be worth it, though. Live bands regularly play here while crowds shoot some pool or just relax with a beer in the rustic setting.
This place is in Monclair, too. Having first opened back in 1922, the theatre has recently undergone a three-million dollar renovation. It now opens its doors to local music fans who come for its variety of live concerts, plus the restaurant is housed in the original lobby.
New Jersey traffic can be unpredictable. We'd advise checking the travel report before you set off, especially if you're crossing the George Washington Bridge.
Ride the train to the Frank R. Lautenberg station in Secaucus. From here, the Meadowlands Rail Service goes directly to the front door of the stadium, taking around ten minutes and costing $4.50 for a round-trip. For drivers, there's a handy park-and-ride rail service. All cars will need a pre-paid parking permit.
The stands offer a bit more variety than most, including relatively healthy options like Soy Kitchen Sushi and Campbell's Soup. Food can be brought into the stadium as long as it's packaged in a clear plastic bag. Small, factory-sealed bottles are okay, too.
There is free WiFi throughout the stadium.
Yes, though it's not cheap at $30 a go. The parking lots usually open five hours before the concert, and closes two hours after.
It's usually two hours before but it's worth checking for the particular gig.
Banners declaring your undying love for the band will have to be left at home. No signs, flags or banners of any size are allowed. Maybe just as well?
