A hidden gem with thoughtful...

Liked: Loved the vibe of The Civilian and the location was perfect for us. We had a cozy twin room for four nights and the decor was fab.Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful cocktail bar and really special rooftop bar experience too- very cool!
Disliked: There was nothing not to like!

Nice design, great location, friendly...

Liked: The staff were awesome and the location is really nice. You're quite close to times square/Hell's Kitchen, and it's really easy to get to any of the three airports. The room is quaint, but well finished and was comfortable for us.
Disliked: Be aware that the bathroom door is glass (not fully see through, but you certainly can make the picture out). Just be sure whoever you're traveling with, you know pretty well ;)

We'll be back to stay!

Liked: Set in an excellent location and full of style. We'd happily stay at The Civilian Hotel again.We used all the facilities from the rooftop bar to coffee served on Level 2. Everything was tastefully done.
Disliked: The prices for drinks were as expected, pricely. Our compact room was small but well planned out. It did have everything we needed.

Everything was fine except the...

Liked: The hotel’s aesthetic was artistic and pleasing, including the bars (rooftop, 1st and second floor). We had a very nice time having dinner and drinks. There are also jazz nights and happy hour which we also enjoyed. Martini time was excellent!
Disliked: The room was extremely tight. There was no space to move at all. No closets, no access to the other side of the bed and a bathroom disproportionally large for the size of the room.

Really enjoyed this hotel: convenient,...

Liked: Excellent location for central Manhattan. Nice street, felt safe enough to walk from theatres. Not far to Subway. Really helpful, well informed staff. Hotel bars & breakfast fine.
Disliked: Nothing really ‘not to like’. Rooms are quite small, being NYC, & don’t have much hanging space but not a big issue.
