What are some 'must do' things in the area?

Art Galleries

There are several galleries that'll get art-lovers excited. The Museum of Fine Artsis just a 15-minute walk from the House of Blues, while the Institute for Contemporary Artwill reward your bus trip with world-renowned 21st century artwork. And if it's smaller galleries you're after, take a look at South End where local creatives get busy at the easel.

Fenway Victory Gardens

Where are the best places to eat near House of Blues Boston?

Uburger

It's the age old question - how to make that perfect burger. These guys use only certified angus beef (meaning there's no preservatives or ingredients you can't pronounce) and grind them fresh each day. Then it's hand-cut fries on the side, maybe with some battered onion rings. We're no expert but that sounds pretty good to us.

Sweet Cheeks

Texas barbecue classics include buttermilk fried chicken and great northern brisket at this cool joint. We're warned the drinks are strong, plus served in mason jars for that easygoing vibe. Roll up early if you want to avoid the crowds.

Island Creek Oyster Bar

We get it. Not everyone wants to crack open a shell to find their dinner. But even if you don't want to tuck into the fresh succulent oysters, there's likely to be something else on the menu to get your mouth watering. Sample a meat, fish or veggie dish in the sleek surrounds of this Fenway restaurant.

Boston Beer Works

As you'd expect, this craft brewery uncorks a vast selection of beers including those that are seasonal, speciality and even gluten-free. Try the copper-colored Back Bay IPA or perhaps the Boston Red Ale with its sweet malt character. Oh and don't forget the food, either. The menu includes roast pork with pickles, Chipotle mayo and French bread on top of salmon burger kicked with wasabi aioli and chips.

The Crossroads restaurantdishes up a range of Southern specialities such as seafood jambalaya and chilled shrimp, as well as American classics including smoked pulled pork sandwiches, Maine lobster rolls and veggie burgers. How about dessert? Perhaps you'd like to dig a fork into the fruit tart or the white chocolate banana bread pudding.

Is there any parking?

What time do doors normally open?

One hour before the first note strikes.

If it's the high life you're after, check out the Foundation Room- a members' lounge for those after the VIP experience.

The House of Blues Gospel Brunchon Sundays isalso worth a look. Grab tickets in advance if you fancy rocking to some live music with your waffles. Not a bad way to start the day, right?

First concert at this venue. Were concerned after reading reviews by other concert goers' negative comments, but our experience was great. Staff was efficient and professional, in both the restaurant and at the door. We were there the night they re-opened after the tragic drug overdose, so expected security to be tight. Went through full-body pat-downs, had bags checked and had to empty pockets, but it was handled well - not overbearing at all. Liked that there are bars on both sides of each floor, as well as spacious restrooms. Only annoyance was we had balcony seats and people slowly drifted upstairs and hung around when they clearly did not belong there. However, the staff did make a few rounds to check tickets and removed those who hadn't purchased balcony seats. It would be good if there was a way to handle that situation so staff does not have to constantly police it. The concert was amazing - we had a great time and would definitely go back. Only for reggae, though!
