The room was nice. Bathroom a bit small; elevators noisy but well worth it for the charm of the building if you like history.

Lovely historic hotel in a...

Liked: Location was excellent. Close to Boston Common and within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
Disliked: Interior is dated and tired. Needs an upgrade. Corridors to bedrooms are slightly run-down looking. Bedrooms are fine but also needs an upgrade. While breakfast was good, there was no breakfast buffet - all table service.

Liked: Beautiful historic hotel that is well maintained. Friendliness of the staff. Unbeatable location.
Disliked: The mattress was sagging and very uncomfortable, I couldn't rest properly.

Love this hotel!

Liked: Beds were very comfortable, staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Room was clean and well maintained, and the halls were quiet, which was nice late at night.
Disliked: We had two double beds, but it appeared the way the room was set up the TV was really only viewable from one bed. That was really the only complaint!

Liked: The location was great! in the heart of everything. We were a party of 3 and the room had 2 double beds, which was great for us. The price was very reasonable for what we got, so we were very happy with our hotel selection
Disliked: The front desk staff was a little slow and if you had a little question to ask (ie - another key for your room, more toilet paper etc...) you had to wait the line of check in\out. There was no one there for immediate assitance for small issues.

Liked: Classy lobby. Friendly bellman and easy front desk check-in experience.
Disliked: The room was tiny. I have not seen a smaller room since I stayed at the NYC YMCA in 1968. It was located in an almost secret location at the end of a maze of hallways. The only way it could be further from the elevator is if it were in another building.
