Venue Information

What's the best way to get to Shoreline Amphitheatre?

Shoreline Amphitheatre isn't particularly easy to get to using public transit. You can take a Caltrain to San Antonio Station, which is just under 3 miles from the venue. Then walk to the San Antonio shopping center and take the number 40 local bus service to Charleston and Huff. From there, it's about a 10 minute walk to Shoreline Amphitheatre. To get home again after the concert, you'll need to make alternative plans, as the bus will almost definitely have stopped running.

It's much easier to drive to the venue. From downtown San Francisco, you can drive to Shoreline Amphitheatre in under an hour. The venue isn't too far off the US-101.

Of course, you could always stay at one of a number of hotels near Shoreline Amphitheatre and either walk or take a cab to your concert.

How much are drinks at Shoreline Amphitheatre?

You can expect a cocktail to set you back around $15; beers are around $8. You can bring your own water (in a sealed plastic bottle), but you can't bring any alcohol.

Is there any parking?

There is plenty of parking on site at Shoreline Amphitheatre, but the parking lots can get pretty busy on event days. If you want to avoid the queues, and you don't mind a short walk, it's often easier to park a little further away from the venue.

How much does parking cost?

General parking is included in the price of your ticket. For around $40 you can upgrade to VIP parking. VIP parking is in the Premier Parking Lot, which is closer to the venue, and makes it easier to beat the traffic after the concert.

Is there WiFi at Shoreline Amphitheatre?

Yes, there's WiFi available and it's free.

Any other important information visitors should know?

Concert-goers are invited to bring their own blankets, coolers and low back chairs. However, you can't take any alcohol, fireworks, skateboards, pets or Frisbees in with you. To be honest, beer, explosives, pets and Frisbees sounds like a lethal combination to us, so we're hardly surprised.

My husband and I have been to many, many shows here and keep coming back for more! The music always sounds great. These past two years we have purchased the Country Music Megaticket for a great price and all the shows have been a lot of fun! We've been to rock shows here as well and the Bridge School Benefit. We have found that we have just as much fun up on the lawn as well as when we've gotten seats, although rental chairs ($5.00) are sometimes helpful on the lawn or you can bring in your own. You can bring in your own dinner too or eat there - just no bottles or cans. Sometimes the seat prices can get pricey, but well worth it at times for a favorite band. Overall a fun venue!

Pros: Great venue with great variety of music here.
Cons: Food and drink prices.

The Shoreline Amphitheater was a great place to check out the shows. I really liked the fact that there was a Rock Medicine stationed throughout the venue. They really do care about us if we have a medical emergency, which we didn't. The food and the crew were great. I am definitely taking my family to the 2013 BFD.

Pros: I would take my family to the next BFD in 2013.
Cons: There is nothing negative about this place.

If you're the type that has to pee alot, do not get lawn seats! Extremely crowded and can't get out very easily. The bands look like ants cuz you're so far away. Just watched the outdated small projector screen. I will only go back here if I buy seats.

Pros: Vip parking. Pay $20 and you'rer in & out fast
Cons: The Lawn. Packed like sardines and can't see stage.

Stood in a long line to get an ID bracelet to drink, but they still asked for my ID each time I went to buy a beer? That was a waste of time cause we missed the opening act...Instead they should kick out all the under aged drinkers.

Cons: Never enough bathrooms

I attended the 311/Sublime concert at the Shoreline which was a great experience. The weather was perfect, my seats were clean & directly in front of the stage, sound was fantastic, beers were cold + large & parking was a close walk to the entrance.

Pros: Wonderful Venue+Event

The Shoreline I thought was great. The sound system sounded great from where we were and Kid Rock was a great concert.

Cons: Catch a cab----you had to walk far.
