The Spotlight on The Creekside Inn

Peaceful Palo Alto Stay with Garden Vibes and Concert Convenience

Modern comfort meets natural charm at The Creekside Inn, a tranquil retreat set on four beautifully landscaped acres in Palo Alto. Just a mile from Stanford University and close to top local music venues, this smoke-free hotel offers a quiet and cozy base for concert-goers. With lush gardens, eco-friendly amenities, and a heated outdoor pool, it's a relaxing spot to recharge after a high-energy show.

Why Concert-goers love it

The Creekside Inn is perfectly located for fans heading to shows in the Palo Alto and Stanford area. While not in the heart of downtown, it's just a quick ride to major venues, and the peaceful setting makes it easy to wind down after a loud night. With a 24-hour business center and flexible amenities like microwaves and mini-fridges in most rooms, it's easy to grab a bite or reheat leftovers post-show. Plus, the eco-conscious vibe and quiet garden paths offer a welcome break from the buzz of live music.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends—spread out in spacious rooms with balconies or patios
  • Solo travelers—safe, quiet, and close to Stanford events
  • Couples—romantic garden setting for a relaxed weekend
  • Fans needing a recovery space—peaceful, green surroundings and plush robes
  • Budget-conscious music fans—solid value with in-room conveniences and free coffee

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Driftwood Deli & Market is perfect for a quick bite or coffee before or after a show. While there's no full-service restaurant, each room comes with a microwave and fridge, making late-night snacks easy. Start your day with complimentary lobby coffee and tea—ideal for late risers after a long night. The surrounding area also offers walkable dining options.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself is more about serenity than parties, you're just a short drive or ride-share away from Palo Alto's vibrant downtown bars and lounges. Whether you're looking for a craft cocktail spot or a casual pub post-show, there are plenty of late-night options nearby.

What People Say

Guests love the peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and clean, well-equipped rooms. Many mention the beautiful gardens and how the Matadero Creek adds a relaxing touch. The eco-friendly focus and plentiful free parking are also highlights, especially for those driving to concerts.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel isn't walking distance to most major venues, so you'll likely need a car or rideshare. Some guests note the property's layout can be a bit spread out, so if mobility is a concern, request a room near the lobby. Breakfast options are limited, but the in-room amenities make DIY meals easy.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a peaceful, eco-friendly place to unwind after a show, The Creekside Inn offers comfort, convenience, and charm just outside the downtown buzz.

Very good

Liked: Very comfortable hotel. Wi-fi was spotty at times. It would be nice if the breakfast could be available until 10 or 10:30. Otherwise, very happy with our stay.

Great location, enchanting scenery but...

Liked: The location is great. The setting/scenery is quite lovely.
Disliked: The room had an old, musty smell to it. The elevator was broken and ALL NIGHT LONG I could hear the constant dinging of it. The walls were quite thin and I could hear my neighbors, albeit muffled, conversations.

Great location, amenities and value

Liked: Had everything we needed. Great location in Palo Alto yet feels secluded in its own little oasis.
Disliked: We were given a room that had not been updated (1980s era). Outdoor furniture consisted of two straight armless chairs making it hard to enjoy the balcony and spend time there.

Disliked: Pool hour 9am to 7pm. Everything else was out of complaints.
