Disliked: Upon check in, I was informed that the pool will be closed from 5.30 due to an event. The pool was the reason I booked the stay. When I complained, the manager said I can use it "if I feel comfortable", and rolled his eyes. It was still 3, so i went to the pool to find that they've removed all loungers except for 4 that already had people on them. The staff was setting up for a big reception (high tables, etc) and said they'll close the pool at 4. They couldn't bring out one more lounger. I returned to the lobby and cancelled my stay. How does a hotel decide to rent out its pool without notice - clearly prioritizing profit from this event over the comfort of their guests? I made my reservation the night before so they already knew this event was taking place but there was no notice when I booked.

Liked: The room was very spacious.
Disliked: It felt and looked like a motel instead of a hotel. The grounds were not as nice as the pictures. It was also much further from Stanford University than I was expecting.

Liked: We loved our room but being that we had a 2 year old it would've been nice to be on the first story. Our favorite part was feed the fish and ducks in the pond! Check in staff was super friendly and nice!!
Disliked: The staff with the restaurant there were terrible. The service was terrible. We had to ask multiple times for simple items like water after waiting for over 20 minutes when clearly we could see the staff joking inside and on their phones. Very disappointing and again we have a 2 year old so eating out is already difficult to start.

Almost perfect!

Liked: Great hospitality with an excellent location in Palo Alto. Stores and bistros are nearby. A little fitness centre is next to the swimming pool. Easy access to M101 and free parking add more value. Once you experience this, you won’t be easily satisfied in any other hotels.
Disliked: The room stinks a bit and I had to keep windows open. The two pillows out of the five may need to be checked thoroughly and the main couch, too.
