Located in downtown Newark, you'll have your pick of places to explore and bars and restaurants in which to dine near the Prudential Center. Just make sure to bundle up if you're going to be wandering around in the winter. Low temperatures and snow are the norm.
The Newark Museum
Folk art, modern art, Tibetan and Indian art, and more -- you can find it all inside the outstanding and ever surprising Newark Museum. Climb through a Victorian mansion (which is actually part of the museum), take in any one of the world-class visiting exhibits, or stop by the jaw-dropping planetarium for a light show to remember.
The Ironbound District
For a fine array of shops and dining that draws its influences from Portugal to Peru, the Ironbound District won't disappoint. Located less than a 10-minute drive away from the Prudential Center, this area will provide hours of distraction before the big event.
Branch Brook Park
If you'll be in town during spring, head to Branch Brook Park to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the cherry blossom festival. The park is beautiful (if cold) during all other seasons, perfect for a stroll along the river or a picnic on the grass when the weather permits.
Newark Public Library
The Newark Public Library will of course be pleasing to bookworms, featuring both standard and special collections. But lovers of architecture and design will also do well to visit here. The Italian Renaissance exterior is sure to impress, as are the gleaming arched reading halls. If the books don't sweep you away to another time and place, the architecture is sure to.
Edison Ale House
You'll find veggie burgers, hummus, salad and ahi tuna in addition to standard American fare like burgers and fries at the Edison Ale House. And of course, the ale at the Ale House is delicious and will warm you for the walk across the street to the Prudential Center when you're done.
For nearby upscale American dining, mosey over to Taste Venue. Here you'll find melt-in-your-mouth steaks and small bites, all with a unique twist. A great way to unwind after your event at the Prudential Center.
You may be up north, but you'll get a taste of down home southern BBQ at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, located just a block away from the Prudential Center. Tuck into those ribs, and nibble away at those chicken wings - just make sure to keep your shirt out of the gravy before you head out to root on the home team.
If you're over 21 and driving, you can sign up for the Designated Driver program at any Guest Services desk within the Prudential Center. You'll get a coupon for a free soft drink, and a raffle entry for a prize pack.
Located in the heart of downtown Newark just two blocks from Newark Penn Station, there are many ways you can get to the Prudential Center in a snap. You can ride a NJ Transit bus or the light rail directly to Newark Penn Station, or take a train that connects to the light rail. PATH trains also stop nearby.
Don't worry about finding a space. The Prudential Center is surrounded by over 3,500 spots within a 2-block radius. You can also prepay for a guaranteed spot when you book through the Prudential Center website.
American fare rules the day at the nine permanent concession stands and portable food and beverage stands located on each level of the stadium. In addition to burgers and fries, you'll find a taste of Cuba, ice cream to temper the heat of your event day excitement, and both canned and draft beer at select vendors. Sound delicious? Great! Get that wallet ready to pay sky high prices.
WiFi is available, but it's only free if you purchase a luxury suite (so…it's not free). Once you choose the Prudential Center WiFi and launch your browser, you'll be directed to a number of service and payment options.
The arena doors generally open an hour to an hour and a half before the start of the event.
Children under 2 don't need a ticket, so bring them along - they love sport, right?

Disliked: Seats on the floor, which cost more than other sections, were way too close to each other. We could barely move our arms. I understand the need to make a profit but this was a poor configuration. The floor seats are obviously smaller and just put in place for concerts. Find a better way, please.

Great night at the Prudential Center. Staff moved the lines through quickly and were friendly and helpful. Seats were comfy though we were up and dancing all night. Sound quality was excellent. We had people in sections 18, 100 and 102 and all were very pleased with their views. Would gladly go back.
Liked: Comfy seats; friendly staff; easily accessed.

Our experience at the Prudential Center was great. It was easy to get to and the game we watched was fun. We saw alot of children and there was not a single problem with anything. We will go back!
