Space Center Houston

Downtown Aquarium Houston

The Downtown Aquarium is not just an aquarium. Of course it is home to over 200 species of aquatic life from around the world but there is also a full restaurant, a bar, shopping, and a ballroom. The original Ninfa's restaurant serves up authentic Mexican as well as Tex-Mex. You should try the Steak fajitas or their famous tacos al carbon. The service is super fast and the waiting staff are courteous and attentive.

No prizes for guessing what these guys offer? as well as an amazing range of pies and cakes, they have a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day so it's ideal for before your event or even for a midnight feast.

Goode Co Texas BBQ

Nothing beats good traditional Texas BBQ and this is one of the best in Houston. They have a huge range of meats straight from the barbecue from brisket to turkey sausage. They will even deliver to your hotel if you want a night in.

What's the best way to get to the Houston Toyota Center?

The Toyota Center is located in the heart of downtown Houston and is easily accessible via the main roads into the city: US59, I-45, and I-10. If you want to take a taxi to the Center from anywhere in the downtown area, you will be charged a flat rate of $6 with no surcharges.

The venue is located six blocks from Main Street Square light rail station on the Houston METROrail red line. Journeys start from $1.25, or you can ride the bus and light rail all day from just $3.

If you're staying at one of the hotels near the Houston Toyota Center, you might be better off on foot.

How much are drinks/food in the Houston Toyota Center?

There is a lot of choice in the concessions within the arena. As you would expect in Texas, there is a wide range of Texas BBQ and Tex-Mex on offer here. The Texas macho burger for $10 comes highly recommended. There are of course hot dogs too. A bacon and mustard dog is priced at $12.

Drinks on offer include soda, bottled water, and coffee; prices start from around $3. Domestic draft beer is available along with a range of bottled beers. Expect to pay at least $8 for these.

The Toyota Center manages a dedicated seven storey parking lot, the Toyota Tundra Garage with around 2,500 spaces. There are an additional 10,000 spaces within just a few blocks of the arena.

Parking in the Tundra Garage is likely to cost $15. On-street parking is free after 6pm and all-day Saturday and Sunday if you can grab a spot nearby.

What time do the doors normally open?

For Houston Rockets games on weekdays, doors open one hour prior to tip-off. For weekend games, gates open 90 minutes before tip-off.

For all special events and concerts, gates open one hour beforehand.
