Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a favorite for fans heading to shows thanks to its central downtown location—just 1.2 miles from multiple major venues. After a late night, the quiet, well-insulated rooms offer a peaceful retreat, and late check-out at 12 PM means you don’t have to rush. Need a ride? The hotel offers convenient transfer service to nearby venues, making it easy to get to the show and back.

Who this Hotel is great for

Food and Drink Options

When the late-night hunger hits, you’re covered. The hotel features 24/7 room service, plus on-site dining at Shula’s Steakhouse, Einstein Bros Bagels, and the stylish LobbiBar. Whether it’s a quick bite before the show or a slow brunch the morning after, you’ve got options without leaving the building.

Nightlife Options

While there isn’t live music on site, the hotel’s LobbiBar is a great spot to start your night with craft cocktails. Even better, you’re a short walk or ride away from Houston’s Theater District and a variety of lively bars, clubs, and lounges that keep the post-show energy going.

What People Say

Guests love the clean, spacious rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The location gets high marks for its walkability and proximity to entertainment. Many visitors mention the comfort of the beds and the modern feel of the hotel as standout features.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that parking fees can add up, and that the downtown location may mean a bit of noise if you're light-sensitive to city sounds. Still, most say the overall experience more than makes up for it.

The Bottom Line

If you're in Houston for the music, the Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown offers the perfect mix of location, comfort, and late-night convenience for concert fans.

Liked: Clean; easy in and out. Well priced.
Disliked: Older facility; could use an update.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Tim , Omaha NE, visiting Hobby Center Mon, 16 March 2015

We flew in 900 miles to see the production of "Once". We would not stay at this particular Hyatt again.

Liked: Comfortable bed; clean room.
Disliked: We arrived at the hotel at 3:30. They did not have any rooms ready. We had to wait until a little after 5 pm to get a room. Hotel staff were unsympathetic, because we had booked through this website. No compensation was offered to make up for this. By the time we checked in and got ready, we could not make our dinner reservations and the concert on time. After the show, we called room service. We were told it would be 90-120 minutes to get service.

My stay at the Hyatt Regency was pleasurable. The staff was professional and very friendly. Adam at the front desk was extremely helpful and very friendly. Will stay here again.

Liked: The staff was professional and courteous.
Disliked: Beds were a little small for two people but still comfy.

Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Mellissa, Pearland, visiting Eleanor Tinsley Park Fri, 14 June 2013

Wouldn't stay again - only because for the money I've stayed in nicer hotels with "fancier" amenities. But overall, a nice hotel.

Liked: Friendly, wonderful service.
Disliked: A little petty - charged me $10 for Sprite (asked for 1, sent 2) & pre-packaged saltines. No Sprite in vending machine. I'm pregnant and had first bout of horrible "morning" sickness. I didn't expect a freebie - but $10.... Jeez.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Great location.

Liked: Beautiful interiors; the shower was awesome; Einstein Bros Bagels is open late.
Disliked: Internet isn't free; elevators can be slow when the hotel is crowded; valet parking is pricey.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Melissa, San Antonio, visiting Eleanor Tinsley Park Thu, 6 June 2013

Liked: Beautiful hotel; wonderful customer service.
Disliked: The acoustics are awful. When I was trying to sleep I could literally hear the conversations from the restaurant/bar in the lobby - and we were on the 16th floor! The acoustics in that hotel really need to be addressed. Fortunately the hotel does provide earplugs already in your room, but earplugs are also very uncomfortable. I'd rather I didn't have to use them at all.

David, Rosenberg, visiting Eleanor Tinsley Park Wed, 5 June 2013

This hotel is amazing. The views are spectacular, the food is well worth a taste, and even the elevators rock. The massive influx of FPSF-ers was handled impressively well - I'll be back for the next one.

Liked: The staff is incredible and treats everyone with 4-star service (even a punk rock kid like myself).
Disliked: The rooms leave a bit to be desired, but who's there to stay in the room anyway.

Nice place; nice staff; super close to Free Press!

Liked: Comfy beds.
Disliked: Expensive; no continental breakfast.
