Get set for the downtown area of Atlanta's Luckie Marietta District. You'll be walking distance from plenty of bars, restaurants and hotels, all near Philips Arena.

What are the 'must do' things in Atlanta?

CNN Center

News flash: the global headquarters of the CNN is pretty cool. And when we say 'cool', we mean 'frantic'. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the cable news network and see for yourself how it delivers breaking stories around the clock. A 55-minute tour costs $16 and upwards.

Georgia Aquarium

The world's second largest aquarium, this place sees fingertips pressed against glass as whale sharks, beluga whales and other aquatic creatures flap about in eight million gallons of water.

Centennial Olympic Park

If it's a little outdoor space you're after, here's 21 acres of the stuff. Head to the visitor center and download a self-guided walking tour which, over one hour, teaches you about the history of the park including how it bagged the Olympics.

SkyView Atlanta

Maybe avoid straight after food? This ferris wheel towers over nearly 20 stories above Centennial Park as viewers take in the views inside gondolas. For $13.50, you'll get a flight lasting around 9-15 minutes.

Where are the best places to eat near Philips Arena?

Taco Mac

104 beers on draft. 100 in the bottle. It's probably fair to say this place is more about the craft beers than the food. Still, the menu has most of the burger and taco favorites you'd expect, and the joint is open until 2am from Thursday to Saturday.

Glenn's Kitchen

If time's on your side, this elegant restaurant is worth a look. The chefs take a southern twist on classic dishes to fill plates with dishes like short rib ravioli and shrimp 'n' grits.

TJ's Sandwiches

Found inside the CNN plaza, TJ's is a nice spot for some lunch or a quick dinner before the gig. Burgers, fries, grilled cheese sandwiches and other tasty eats are served up at reasonable prices.

Young Augustine's

Okay, so it's a ten-minute drive away. But this Grant Park bar wins over visitors with its laidback atmosphere. The hip, young crowd can be seen throwing darts or hanging around the outdoor patio as the warmer months roll in.
