The majority of event venues at Liberty University are on the main campus. You can thereforetake advantage of the (student priced) food and drink options, enjoy a walk around or head the 5 or 6 miles to downtown Lynchburg.

The area immediately surrounding the campus is pretty quiet - unless you consider a Starbucks or McDonalds a party!

How can I spend a day in Lynchburg before heading to the concert?

Point of Honor Museum

Take in a bit of history and culture with a visit to the Point of Honor Museum. For the $6 admission fee, you can sample some of Lynchburg's history and take in some impressive architecture at the same time.

The Anne Spencer House

The home of poet and civil rights activist, Anne Spencer, is in Lynchburg. The gardens are free to roam and you can take a tour of the house for $15.

Riverwalk Trail

If you're looking for a good wholesome way to spend a day without spending a dime, then the Riverwalk Trail could be just what you're looking for. Take in the scenery and fresh air on this three and a half mile trail. You can either walk or cycle.

What are the best places to eat and drink near Liberty University?

Macado's

Who doesn't love low priced drinks and sandwiches? Macado's is just off the Liberty University campus and is a great option for lunch or dinner.

Shoemaker's American Grille

Downtown, just under 6 miles from campus you'll find Shoemaker's American Grille. It's a little further away from campus than Macado's, of course, but the menu might just tempt you. With consistently awesome food and drink reviews and a Happy Hour from 4:30 - 6:30 every weekday, this is well worth a visit.

There are a lot of options for dining on the Liberty University campus itself including different pop-up restaurants making an appearance throughout the year. If you want to eat on-site and take advantage of low prices and close proximity to your event, then check out the on-campus options.

Lynchburg VA is also known as "The Hill City," or "City of Seven Hills." We're not offering prizes for guessing why that is! So if you do plan to walk around, you'll want comfortable shoes (we don't mean to sound like your Grandma). On the plus side, just think of all the calories you'll burn.

What's the best way to get to Liberty University?

Liberty University operates a number of shuttle services from Lynchburg Airport, Amtrak station and Greyhound Station for just $10 per person, but you will have to reserve in advance.

There are on-campus bus services connecting the various event and game venues around campus too. You'll probably appreciate that more when you realize just how big campus is!

For those staying a night or two, there are plenty of hotels near Liberty University from which you can walk to campus.

Is there any parking?

There is parking at various buildings within the Liberty University campus. To park within the University Campus, you either need a Student Parking Permit or you to need to register for a temporary parking pass for visitors. It can get busy when there are games or events on.

You'll have to head to the Visitor Center to get a temporary parking pass.

Any other important information to know?

The Liberty University campus is over 7,000 acres and is made up of over 300 buildings. So do make sure you know exactly where you're heading for your event to save yourself a hike across a pretty vast campus!
