My husband & I booked front row seats-A39/40 on 12/11/2011 to see Ken Dodd. He was fantastic & we would love to see his show again but not under any circumstances at King Georges Hall. At 8.30pm when Sybie Jones came onto the stage there was a mass exodus of those people who couldn't wait until the interval to down a pint. It puzzles me why the bar would be open when a show is on. My heart went out to her & I wanted to apologise for those ignorant people. They also spoiled her performance for us because they were constantly backwards & forwards. When Richard & Adam Johnson came onto the stage the same thing was still happening & my heart went out to them because they had wonderful voices & so many people just didn't care. Again everything was spoilt for us. When Ken Dodd came back onto stage these people were still pouring back in & stomping their heels on the wooden floor. We've been to many theatres in M/cr, Stockport, Plymouth, Edinburgh but have never experienced anything like we did at your hall. I can only assume that the profits from the bar are more important than the satisfaction of theatregoers who go to see & enjoy a show. They must also be more important than the feelings of the performers. These people could just as well have gone to the pub, had a few pints & created their own laughter without spoiling a wonderful show for genuine theatregoers.
Liked: Ken Dodd & supporting acts
Disliked: Opening of the bar during the show
