Liked: Lovely spacious room, modern luxurious shower and bathroom, everything worked well and I have a relaxing stay. Simple and welcoming check-in/ out.

Liked: The bathroom was large and recently fitted albeit the black and gold tiles were not to our taste.The bed was King size and very comfortable.Linen was fresh and clean.Bathroom was very clean.
Disliked: This hotel is not even close to 4* standard as advertised. Room furniture & fittings were very poor. Not even doors on the wardrobe. Carpet was poorly fitted. One of the windows had no locks and allowed cold air in. The radiator did not work and the room was freezing cold. The TV had very few functions and the phone kept buzzing. There were no mobile charging points provided.The breakfast was disappointing. Whilst there were a number of options, the cooked options were not very enjoyable. The croissants were brioche style pre-packed in cellophane. The breakfast room was made up of Formica covered tables randomly laid out. No napkins were provided or available. Staff at breakfast were not at all friendly and barely spoke.There was no restaurant for meals other than breakfast.The hotel main door is permanently locked, requiring a key card to enter.Reception was not manned 24/7. In fact it was rarely manned.The car park is a very small partially concrete, partially tarmac, partially rubble area with no more than 8 spaces.Noise from outside the hotel was significant, boy racers, a “Casino” opposite and surrounded by run down buildings.

Very good

Liked: On the plus side as regards the location, it was extremely close to the train station (an easy walk). I stayed two separate times and the first time my room was unimpeachable.
Disliked: On the negative side, the location is not the safest. The second time I stayed there, the bathroom had a strange (moldy?) smell.
