This was the first time I had seen a concert at the First Direct Arena and was very impressed by the layout of the seating area and sound balance. It was a sold out show and the atmosphere was fantastic, sometimes lacking in the BIG places like Manchester and Sheffield. The outside of the building was very impressive but apart from the lit up First Direct Arena sign on the front of the building, it was hard to make out what it was meant to be. It needed some neon strip lighting on the outside to sell itself. I know this is not Vegas but surely they could have spent a few more quid on some decent lighting advertising the arena. Definitely looking forward to seeing more bands at the arena in the near future.
