When I booked the hotel I was booking blind - I was looking for an ideal location for the arena as well as somewhere convenient for the evening and close to the centre for shopping. When we arrived just from the location, the fact that we didn't have to walk miles with suitcases from the car park, even not having to walk outside was a bonus. The staff were fab, as we had arrived early we had a choice of rooms to choose from which was great, and when we walked into the room, I was blown away by the size, decor, cleanliness and style of the room. It was more than we expected. I was a little doubtful of paying for the breakfast but so glad that we did. Again food and service second to none, food freshly prepared to order. I honestly couldn't find a negative, and will definitely go back.

Stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms, as a free upgrade - how lovely! Everything was wonderful! Slept like a log on one of the comfiest beds ever ( I want one!). Parking is nearby, all shops within walking distance. Staff at reception were very helpful, breakfast was plentiful. No complaints!

Lovely hotel, excellent location. Nothing bad to say, except breakfast is a rip off Â£15. Wetherspoons round the corner - get 2 for a tenner with coffee.

Disliked: Our bathroom was outdated and not very clean. There was a toilet brush with someone else's toilet roll stuck in the bristles.

Really nice on the surface...

Liked: Well located, room is very spacious and most of the facilities in the room were perfect for what needed. Bed very comfy. Said it was a cathedral view suite and had a definite view of the cathedral.
Disliked: Requested travel cot and had it confirmed twice (once in booking and once in person) to return 5 hours later to find it wasn't in the room. Asked again for it to be installed in the room so my 11 week old child could sleep and I was unhappy it had been confirmed repeatedly yet still not in place. Was told confirmation in booking was automated and they don't get that information (so what's the point?) and had to reiterate that we had it confirmed at 11am when we dropped our luggage off with a member of staff so it should have been there. Was finally installed just after 5pm with a king size duvet folded over and over to make a mattress that nearly filled half the cot. Took it out immediately and baby slept on the travel cot base which can double as a thin mattress in an emergency but isn't ideal.Bath in the room was filled with debris across the bottom of it for no apparent reason and after having had housekeeping come up once to make up the sofa bed and install the travel cot we did not feel we could ask them to come back to complete the cleaning that hadn't been done. Ended up cleaning it ourselves so I could take a shower. Lights are on a very strange circuitry and when we went to lower them for the evening by turning some off, the silly wall lights around the television started glitching and created a strobe effect that we struggled to sort. Turns out in room 347 you need to turn all the lights off and then the bathroom light on to stop the lights behind the TV flicking on and off at speed. Good job the member of our party who was staying in the room with epilepsy wasn't triggered by lights or I'd have been calling an ambulance within seconds of trying to turn everything off to go to bed.
