Venue Information

What's the best way to get to MAPFRE Stadium?

The Central Ohio Transit Authority runs buses such as the 1, 4, 8 and 12 to the area of the stadium. However, most will require a 15 to almost 30 minute walk at some point throughout your journey, so driving or taking a rideshare is recommended.

Is there any parking?

$15 general parking is available for Crew SC matches. Prices vary for all other events.

What kind of food and drink can visitors expect in MAPFRE Stadium? What are prices like?

The food available at MAPFRE Stadium is surprisingly diverse. You'll find ramen here as well as fried chicken and other American fare and craft beer. Make sure to check out the gyro station as well as the "Beer From Ohio" station. Prices vary widely, but are consistent with stadiums elsewhere…so make sure to stuff your wallet.

What time do doors normally open?

You can head down to the stadium early to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere as the gates open 90 minutes before kickoff.

What's the surrounding area like?

MAPFRE Stadium is located on the grounds of the Ohio Expo Center and State Fairgrounds. It is a 5 to 10 minute drive from the Ohio State University and a 10 to 15-minute drive from downtown. That means that while there's not a ton to do in the immediate surrounding area, there are plenty of activities just a short drive away.

How can I spend the day in Columbus before heading to a match?

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Stroll past the flowers, world famous Chihuly sculptures, greenery to beat all greenery, and a diversity of rotating exhibitions. Located just a short drive from downtown, this is the perfect place to breathe in a bit of fresh air and stretch those legs.

COSI - Center of Science and Industry

As one of the most famed and storied science museums in the country, COSI is not to be missed. Featuring over 300 interactive exhibits, you can journey to space, learn about atoms, or dive into the deep sea.

Where are the best places to eat and drink near MAPFRE Stadium?

Hounddog's Three Degree Pizza

It just so happens that one of the best pizza shops in Columbus is located smack between The Ohio State University and MAPFRE Stadium. Grab yourself a slice to power up or power down before or after the game, and make sure to ask for one of their more creative toppings. Hot Mama Cajun links, here we come.

The Crest Gastropub

For more upscale fare, head to the Crest Gastropub, just a mile and a half away from MAPFRE Stadium. With plates for one and plates to share, you'll taste your way from the Mediterranean to Mexico. An excellent pre- or post-game option.

Diaspora

Want a taste of Korea, but with an American twist? That's exactly what you'll find at Diaspora. Tuna deep-fried with cream cheese, dumplings, and pizza in seaweed wrap are just a few of the creative twists you'll find here either before or after the game.

Put up a second big stage on the other end of the stadium. It will allow for quicker change of bands and less moving to different areas to see the bands.

Pros: Great for a concert venue.
Cons: Needed a cut through area on the main floor from each side of the stadium. It's a long walk from stage to stage and it makes it hard to get to each stage on time to see the bands.

Had a great experience - would attend another concert at the CREW.

Pros: Security was good - kept people in their seats for the most part; bathrooms never ran out of toilet paper.
Cons: Could not bring in sealed water bottles.

Not nearly enough restrooms located within proximity of the seats - had one restroom for about 4 sections of fans. Security was not nearly thick enough to maintain the crowd and were over-run with everyone trying to move closer to the stage - NEVER AGAIN.

Cons: Paid a lot of money for seats and were over-run with people in the aisle ways that we could not see over.

The Crew Stadium is well designed and maintained. I found clean bathrooms and saw staff constantly sweeping up. Crew staff were also friendly and helpful. Crowds were handled respectfully and without delay. Great place to be!

Pros: Facility and staff were great.
Cons: Parking was confusing.

Need some areas that can spray mists of water like they have at the race tracks to cool off. Need more shaded areas. The staff was wonderful to deal with and the security was great and made it a very safe event. Thank you Columbus Ohio and Crew Stadium and staff for letting this event happen.

Pros: Plenty of seating and the view to the main stage was great from any seat. Wonderful place to have Rock on the Range - I will be back.
Cons: Alcoholic beverages way too highly priced along with the food. On the back of the ticket there was a coupon for Subway - buy a 6" sub and get one free or half off (can't remember) - but they would not let us use them inside the venue.

Perfect venue for Rock On The Range. FYE stage needs to be turned back around so 35k people don't have to squeeze through a tiny gate. And you should think about some spray tents or more shade areas. Almost passed out from heat exhaustion.

Pros: Everything else
Cons: No shade
