Located 20 minutes outside of Tampa, the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre is nestled between freeways. The Florida State Fairgrounds are nearby, as are a number of hotels, and both Bellows Lake and Tisawee Lake.
Henry B. Plant Museum
Housed in an ornate Gilded Age hotel built by railroad magnate Henry Bradley Plant, the Moorish architecture on display here is as impressive as the artifact collections you'll discover inside. From the lush tropical gardens to the 14 rooms decorated in impressive Victorian décor, you'll feel like you've stepped back to a more sophisticated - and colorful - time.
You don't have to limit yourself to simply observing the creatures at the Florida Aquarium; here you can swim with the dolphins, or dive out onto the aquarium's coral reef. And you won't only find deep sea creatures. Here, at what is one of the top aquariums of its kind in the country, remember to keep your eyes peeled for alligators, otters, and Burmese Pythons.
From live stage shows, to a zoo with thousands of animals, to adrenaline-pumping rides, there's no shortage of attractions at Busch Gardens Tampa. Take a 15-minute drive from your main event at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, and you'll feel like you've stepped into another land and time.
Big Cat Rescue
If you have a soft spot in your heart for tigers, lynx, snow leopards, tigers or bobcats, then you'll definitely want to make time for this must-see big cat sanctuary. With 67 acres to explore, you'll learn a lot on your tour, and thrill in seeing the big cats in their natural environment.
While it won't give you a taste of the region, the national chain Five Guys is certainly convenient when you're looking for a quick bite before or after the concert. Stop in for mouthwatering burgers and fries. Alternatively, if you're looking for more local fare and are willing to make the 1.5 mile trip, head to Danny's All-American Diner for a burger to remember.
Restaurants at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Just 5 minutes away from the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre are the many restaurants at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Choose from Council Oaks (steak and seafood), the Hard Rock Café, Fresh Harvest (a comprehensive buffet), Rise Bakery & Kitchen, the Noodle Bar at Jabao Place, or Rock N' Raw (a sushi bar). You can't go wrong!
TacoSon Mexican Grill
You won't regret the 15-minute drive from the amphitheatre to TacoSon Mexican Grill. This hidden gem offers a wide sampling of street tacos you'll just have to taste to believe.
A public bus will get you near the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre, but you'll have multiple transfers and will have to walk approximately 15 minutes to the venue when you arrive. Driving is probably a better bet, but you can double check by mapping out your public transportation route with the Hillsborough Area Regional trip planner.
There are lots right next to the amphitheatre, and the price of parking is included when you pay for your ticket. Premier parking costs extra and is show-dependant.
Most of the fare offered here is typical American food, including burgers, hot dogs, pizza, barbeque, and beer. But it can get pricey, so you might want to take advantage of this loophole: guests are allowed to bring in a 1-gallon clear plastic bag of food, and one sealed bottle for water per person, as well as a 1-gallon soft-sided collapsible cooler.
Doors typically open an hour and a half before the event, but check with your ticket issuer to confirm.
Since the venue is all outdoors, feel free to bring a low profile chair, as long as it's no higher than 9 inches from the ground with a chair back of less than 24 inches. Make sure to get there early to secure your spot.

Tailgating area, so much fun. Friendly atmosphere, organized parking and getting to and from amphitheater. No problems. Most staff was helpful, few seemed to be lacking information, directions, etc.
Liked: Great venue.
Disliked: Sound quality.

First time seeing concert there - was great.
Liked: Seats we had were awesome.
Disliked: Need more seats.
Steven, Fort Myers
Liked: Plenty of vendors for food and drinks; restrooms were kept clean.
Disliked: Small theatre with very slight elevation change between seats making it difficult to see the show.
We got totally soaked from the parking area to the actual entrance. It is a longer walk than it looks when it's raining. Beers were $11 for a 24 oz can - got hot before you could finish it. The amphitheatre is comfortable for a concert. You can see the sunshine/rain and don't feel like you are cramped in a stadium.
Liked: Stage view.
Disliked: Long walk in the rain.

Fun outdoor theater. Great place to tailgate before the show. Lawn seats are alway affordable.
Good concert venue and enjoyed the show.
Liked: Good atmosphere. I loved the open air blowing through.
Disliked: Not loud enough - hard to hear over the loudmouth in front of me.
Planning on returning for more concerts and events.
