First time concertgoers to Meymandi Concert Hall and we loved the venue. The concert itself was even better than we expected, especially the last movement of the 9th Symphony with both Choral and instrumental musicians performing. We enjoyed the 2 male vocal soloists but would have enjoyed different pieces to be played in the first half of the concert....maybe other Beethoven works? We are from Wilmington, NC and highly recommend all music lovers to check out upcoming programs by the NC Symphony.
Liked: The last movement of the 9th Symphony when the orchestra and chorus were performing together. Also enjoyed the 2 male vocal soloists.
Disliked: Great 1st time at Meymandi. There needs to be someone at each door to help people know where to go. We are slow, elderly walkers and had lots of trouble finding out where to go for our seats. Thank goodness for the elevator!
