The KFC Yum! Center is located right on the Ohio River, which you can spot through the windows of the Woodford Reserve Club. It also happens to be smack in the middle of downtown, placing you right near the hubbub.
As the home to the world famous Kentucky Derby, Churchill Downs is a must-visit for all horse racing fans around 40 minutes from the KFC Yum! Center by public transportation. Head there on a race day, or hop on over to the Kentucky Derby Museum to learn more about the event's storied history.
Located just next to the KFC Yum! Center is the 72-acre Waterfront Park. With green spaces and walkways galore, you'll find plenty of ways to stretch your legs. Our personal favorite, however, is the Big Four Bridge, which is lit by alternating colored lights during the nighttime. Bike or walk over it for an up close view.
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
As America's pastime, the sport of baseball is already full of myths and legends. Few, however, more so than the legendary Louisville Slugger, the bat that has hit so many homeruns. Here at the Museum and Factory, just 15 minutes' walk from the KFC Yum! Center, you can examine famous bats used by such sluggers as Mickey Mantle, and stand behind home plate to try your own luck at hitting 90 mph fast balls.
Muhammad Ali Center
If you're a fan of the Great Cassius Clay, this is the perfect destination for learning more about the man behind the name-and the principles that drive him. You can even step into the ring to see what the world is like from a boxer's perspective. The Muhammad Ali Center is within 10 minutes' walk of the KFC Yum! Center.
Bluegrass Brewing Co.
Situated just round the corner from the venue, head to this Louisville institution to fortify yourself before the game or celebrate afterwards with fresh draft beer and a burger, a sandwich, or a salad.
You may have caught famed chef, Edward Lee, on any number of cooking shows, but now you can catch him at the Milkwood, located in the Actors Theatre of Louisville. Stop by here for a pre-game or concert cocktail and perhaps some caviar.
The Original Impellizzeri's Pizza
Sure, you could grab a slice of pizza in the Yum! Center, but you'd do just as well picking up a slice at Impellizzeri's as you leave the game. Located right next to the stadium, you'll find pasta, salad, breadsticks and more in addition to the usual pizzeria fare.
The Kentucky Derby is held every May, so make sure to pack your fancy hat if you're headed to Louisville then. Less famous is Lebowski Fest, a traveling festival that hits Louisville every. As a celebration of the movie and the culture it espouses, there is a screening of the film, a bowling party, costume and trivia contests, and white Russians everywhere you turn.
The nearest TARC public buses stop at 4th and West Main, Market and South 2nd, and West Jefferson at South 1st. From any of these stops, the KFC Yum! Center is just around the corner.
Though the venue encourages you to take public transportation, there is a multi-level garage beneath the KFC Yum! Center. If you'd like to park here, it's highly recommended you reserve your spot through the venue website. There is also plenty of parking in the neighborhood, with 21,000 parking spots within five blocks of the arena, 19,000 more in garages and in surface lots, and more than 2,200 on-street spaces.
Most snacks run in the $4 to $5 range, while entrees are closer to $9 to $11. Most beer is around $6.50 to $8.
You'll find classic American fare here, from foot-long corn dogs to hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, sausage, nachos, pretzels, and yes, even the occasional veggie burger. Canned and draft domestic beer is available.
Upload away! WiFi is free throughout the arena and outdoors on the Norton Healthcare Plaza.
Doors typically open 1.5 to 2 hours before the event.
Worried about the nearby Ohio River flooding into the arena? Don't be! The arena is part-stadium, part-flood wall. That said, if it's raining hard, the surrounding areas might be difficult to navigate, so plan accordingly.

The place was OK - nothing special as far as giant arenas go. Like most arenas, the seats are small and the aisles are super narrow. I wish the show had more general admission/standing areas, but that's probably more the band's decision than the arena. Beers were $9.75 a piece, which seemed a bit much, even for arena prices. I've gotten used to the price gouging at places like this, but I was expecting about 8 bucks, not 9.75. Overall, it was a decent place to see a show. The spaces outside the concert area (the halls where you enter the sections, buy beer, etc.) were big and wide, which was nice. Not as much crowding as in some venues.
Liked: The halls outside the concert area were spacious so not a lot of crowding.
Disliked: Beer prices; small size of seats and aisles.

Very nice venue to see a concert. We had floor seats, with a good view of the stage, but the big screens were wonderful to get up close and personal looks at the performers. The staff were very helpful in guiding us to our seats, restrooms, vendor areas, etc.; the place was clean and spacious; the concession areas were very nice as well.
Liked: Great acoustics; new arena with nice seating; excellent place to see a concert.

Liked: The KFC Yum Center staff is unbelievable. They are so dialed in that even though it was New Year's Eve, everything went so smoothly for the crowd they had. I love that they had security wanding, looking in purses and making my husband empty his pocket. Thank you for caring about my safety! I'm handicapped and they made it so easy on me. They directed me to my seat from the elevator to the seat. Kudos to you! I'm coming back for Blake Shelton and Bruce Springsteen. I'm so looking forward to another great experience.

Will definitely be back.
Liked: Great place. Great venue.

Floor seating was so far back that it made stadium seating really far back. I would advise people to buy stadium seats to the left or right on the stage.
Liked: Bruno Mars was awesome.
Disliked: Overpriced seating - paid $500.00 for 2 seats in section 111 row AA.
Great Eagles concert. Clean; friendly staff. Easy walk from motel. Food was affordable. If I'm ever in Kentucky again I won't think twice about seeing another event there!
Need more screens for those in upper levels to see also.
Liked: Loved it!

Can't wait to visit again!
Liked: Very clean and great place to have a concert.
Disliked: Nothing negative.
Saw Luke Bryan there - was first time visiting the stadium. All the ushers, ticket takers and bartenders were very nice. Beautiful stadium - appears to be no bad seats in the entire arena. Can't wait to see another concert there.
Liked: Great staff.
