Courtyard by Marriott Louisville Downtown

We were there for concert @ YUM Center, which was literally only a few steps away. When we arrived, we were asked if we would like a "Balcony room" - YES! It faced YUM Center. Was great for viewing activity goings on before & after the concert.

Liked: Location!
Disliked: Was told breakfast was included. They offered breakfast but was it NOT complimentary.

Liked: Close to the YUM Center and the people were very friendly.
Disliked: Broken tile in the bathroom; not enough towels; the walls were painted 2 different colors and looked like it was not finished at all. And most hotels offer complimentary breakfasts these days.

The room, service and people were all wonderful. We will use this service again. Great location; very clean; bistro wonderful and convenient, and people friendly and helpful.

Liked: Everything.

It was an expensive sleep.

Liked: The staff was nice.
Disliked: The fact that you have to pay to park in the hotel parking lot is ridiculous. Also, the fee for breakfast blew my mind, especially for the cost of 1 night.

It was just ok.

Liked: Everything was ok. The Staff was great. The location was horrible. However, there isn’t anything you can do about that. The problem was the traffic noise all night long. I don’t just mean noise, I mean load obnoxious noise. Between the motorcycles hitting the throttle and the cars I wouldn’t stay here again. If I did choose to stay here I wouldn’t stay on the side of Mainand second street side.
Disliked: The staff.

A wonderful experience check in...

Liked: The staff was extremely friendly and so kind to me. The front desk lady who checked me in went out of her way to make me feel special; even though I was traveling alone; when she saw it was my birthday. I was very touched by how incredibly kind she was to me and I greatly appreciated all the recommendations she made about spots to visit and places to go. All of the staff was so friendly and helpful.
Disliked: I really had the best stay. A lot of people complain about the noise, and there is a lot of road noise but a white noise machine and ear plugs are provided. Also, you'd be hard pressed to find a place in that location without the street noise. You could not find a friendlier hotel; better staff; and more comfortable stay.

Liked: Close to planned venue.
Disliked: Did not get room I booked 3 months in advance because of overbooking. Staff member that checked us in tried to fix it but another female staff member was very rude and unhelpful basically saying it was my fault and there was nothing that could be done. No compensation was offered. Beds were hard and too high with someone with back issues I struggled getting in and out of the bed. This visit was part of a wedding gift to ourselves and we were very disappointed in our stay.

Liked: We could walk to museums and restaurants. Staff were courteous and welcoming. Our room overlooked the arena during the graduation ceremonies for U of Louisville, giving us front row view of their fireworks display - an unexpected treat!
Disliked: It was heartbreaking to see vagrants sleeping on the streets of downtown Louisville.
