There are a few pizza and fast food joints, plus hotels near Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre. However, for a better spectrum of offerings, head the ten or so miles to the coast. Here you'll find a wave of seafood restaurants, bars and a taste of the local nightlife.
Within a few blocks:
Grandma's Brooklyn Pizza
Sometimes you just want to keep things simple: a small pizza joint serving up fresh slices. Well this is it. The eight or so tables are filled with families tucking into pizza and calzones, along with pasta dishes like chicken parmigiana and mussels marinara.
India Grill and Bar
You'll have to seek this place out. Hidden away by Royal Palm Beach Boulevard, this restaurant keeps the taste buds guessing with a huge selection of dishes from both Northern and Southern India. Try the tandoori chicken or the saffron-infused Rogan Josh. Or maybe one of the many veggie dishes and dals, accompanied with freshly baked Indian breads.
Open for breakfast and lunch each day, Frannie's keeps the locals happy with its home-style cooking. So happy, in fact, that the restaurant has recently expanded. Plates are filled with generous portions of homestyle dishes like corn beef hash with potatoes, and biscuits covered in sausage gravy.
By the beach:
255 varieties of tequila get the party started (and keep it fueled all night long) at this fun restaurant. It's not just about the cocktails, though. Authentic Mexican dishes include plenty of enchiladas, large salads, and baked fajitas, plus guacamole made table-side.
Old Key Lime House
For a flavor of old Florida, mosey on down to this famous dock-side restaurant. Then it's peel 'n' eat shrimp and lobster rolls, or maybe clams slurped straight from their shells. Enjoy tables lining the dock - shaded by awnings - and listen out for rock and reggae bands that perform in the outdoor hut bar.
South Florida Science Center & Aquarium
Bone up on your science (how much do you remember from school?) at this recently renovated center. For $15, you can journey around the 30 hands-on exhibits, and enjoy a theater, science trail and mini galaxy golf.
Rapids Water Park
If a dual seven-story speed slide doesn't sound too appealing, don't worry - there are 34 other slides to choose from. And afterwards, you can drift around the wave pool or down the quarter-mile lazy river. This large waterpark will set you back $39.99 upwards for a day's splashing about.
Norton Museum of Art
Works by big names like Matisse, O'Keeffe and Warhol draw the crowds to this museum, the largest of its kind in Florida. There's also contemporary photography to provide your cultural fix, and 'Art After Dark' lectures held on Thursday evenings.
Coming in April? For the last week of that month, West Palm Beach holds an annual festival devoted to art and music. Feast on local food while taking in the area's various cultural rhythms and gazing out along the waterfront.
Driving is usually the easiest way to get there. Apart from that, you could hop on a bus, such as the Palm Tran route 43 which leaves from the mall at Wellington Green. Be aware that the amphitheatre has gone through a few name-changes over the years, so you might see it listed in several guises (in this case as 'Sound Advice Amphitheatre').
Your stomach will be happy, your wallet not so much. Although there's a decent variety of both food and drink, expect to pay around $12.95 for a large can of beer, $9 for a cheeseburger, and $7 for a hot dog. The good news is, you can bring in your own snacks as long as they're inside clear plastic bags. No alcoholic drinks, though.
Prices are show-specific, but safe to say it'll be around $20-40. The parking lot opens around three hours before the show time and you'll be charged more if you get there super early. You can guarantee your spot with advance purchasing or, alternatively, look out for one of the free spots by the Fairgrounds off the main road, if you don't mind a walk.
An hour before showtime. If sitting on the grass, we recommend getting there for when the doors open to get a good position. It'll be a free-for-all so have your blankets at the ready.
The Florida summers can get pretty hot and sticky. So while it's tempting to rock up with nothing but your ticket, we'd recommend the Boy Scouts approach: come prepared. Lawn chairs, blankets, umbrellas and water (each person can bring one sealed bottle) are all allowed to keep you comfortable.

Liked: What a great venue! Loved the place and the concert was incredible. The parking lot guy was hammered and rude as hell, but some people can't speak without the F word.

Our favorite venue to see a concert!

My husband and I went to see the Dave Matthews Band and sat on the lawn. Awesome concert and venue with premier parking making our in and out experience a breeze. All the patrons around us on the lawn were very courteous and friendly and we had a great time.
