My friends and I visited Misquamicut Beach yesterday. After three hours of traffic getting there we spent a couple of hours on the beach and then decided to get something to eat. We went to Paddy's. At first impression, it seemed like a friendly environment, but once we sat down our experience was far from enjoyable. Our server came over and introduced himself and a new girl he was training at the time. He proceeded to take our orders, and seemed as though he were in a rush to either get out of there or get us out of there. Understandable, it was probably a stressful day for him, seeing as though the beach was packed full of people, but his attitude toward us was impolite. I ordered a pasta entree, and asked if it came with a breadstick. He said no, and automatically assumed I wanted an order of breadsticks as well. Seeing as though he was in such a rush and didn't seem to be listening, I just said that's fine. One of my friends wasn't yet ready to order, and questioned an item on the menu. He got irritated with her and said, "Is everyone else ready then?" My friends and I have no complaints about the food. It was tasty and served to us quickly. Once my pasta entree came out, not only did I receive a side of breadsticks, but I also got one on my plate after he told me my meal didn't come with one. When it was time for us to pay our bill, he brought out one bill for all of us. Two of my friends had cash, and my other friend and I wanted to pay with our debit cards, because that was all we had to pay with at the time. We asked the waiter to split the bill for us three ways, with my breadsticks and pasta on my card, my friend's clamcakes with her card, and the rest of the food was paid in cash. He got aggrivated with us, and said, "For future reference, there's an ATM out front. The managers get annoyed when people split their bills like this." There may be an ATM, but splitting the bill is much more convenient because using the ATM adds at least a $5 fee to use it and a fee from the bank. He came across as very rude by telling us we were inconveniencing them, when we were the ones paying them. After he split the bill for us, he came out and told us that the money we gave him was short. The only reason it was short was because he didn't put my bread sticks on my card, but added them to the cash portion of the bill instead. We were not impressed with the service we received at Paddy's to say the least.
