What is the surrounding area like?

Set in Downtown Tulsa, Bok Center is the area's main attraction but there's still a wide variety of other things to do. Head a few blocks east for a decent choice of restaurants and sports bars. Or check out The Brady Arts Districtwhich is home to shops, galleries and many locally owned restaurants.

What are the 'must do' things in Tulsa?

Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

Housed in what used to be Union Station, this hall of fame celebrates many jazz greats like Charlie Christian, Ernie Fields Senior and Wallace Willis. And you won't need to pay a cent. Look out for regular jazz concerts, too.

Philcade Building

Downtown Tulsa was once known for its art deco designs. And the Philcade Building is most likely the best example. Fans of architecture can marvel at the three parts which form a 'T' for Tulsa, including a lavish lobby of polished marble, chandeliers and an arched ceiling covered in gold leaf.

Where are the best places to eat near Bok Center?

Ti Amo Ristorante

Good food isn't all about winning awards but hey, it helps. This Italian has won over judges with its indulgent meat dishes, pastas and brandy cream sauces, all enjoyed in a cozy setting.

Sushi Place

Soft-shelled crab with lemon sauce? Salt and pepper octopus? Or maybe the classic California roll is destined for your plate. This cafe is great for a lunch or quick pre-concert snack in the downtown area.

The Tavern

This place isn't content with the usual humdrum pub-food. Fries are made with truffle oil, the confit brisket is served with Texas garlic toast… Add in champagne cocktails and it's all very hip.

Diners enjoy classic French cookery at this smart restaurant, where the menu is flavored with dishes ranging from braised escargot to grilled tenderloin fillet with shallot butter. Meanwhile, a mixologist shakes up infused vodka and gin-kicked drinks at the bar and live jazz adds to the atmosphere.

What's the best way to get to Bok Center?

If attending a big event, you'll be able to catch a free shuttle bus run by Tulsa Transit. Or, if you prefer to drive, head for the intersection of 3rd Street and Denver Avenue in Downtown Tulsa. Navigation can be kinda confusing so take a look at directionsbefore setting off.

What can people expect in terms of food and drink?

Both variety and quality get full points at Bok Center. The usual suspects of the fast food world will be out in force, as well as several local restaurants and food sellers including Billy's on the Square, Candy Shack and The Doghouse. You won't have to go far for a range of beers and local microbrews either.

Does the venue have WiFi?

Yep, there's nothing to stop your selfie hitting the internet!

Is there parking?

Although there's no official center parking lot, 12,000 parking spaces can be found within a ten-minute walk, including a city owned garage diagonally across the street.

How much does parking at Bok Center cost?

Around $5-10 in a lot. Meanwhile, after 5pm, all metered parking is free.

What time do doors normally open?

Don't panic, you will have plenty of time as doors open 90 minutes beforehand.

Any other information visitors should know?

Some banners are given the go-ahead, so get out those paints and felt-tip pens. As for cameras, your pic-taking might be limited to your phone. Look on the event page for your particular show to get the low-down on lens sizes.

I enjoyed my concert and stay in Tulsa. Clean venue with comfortable seating and I felt very safe. We walked from our hotel to BOK and got right in to our seats. After the concert, we also felt very safe walking back with police directing traffic and making sure people were able to get across the street safely. I go to many venues and I don't always feel safe and secure after 11:00 especially walking. I give my experience 5 stars.

Liked: Very nice venue with comfortable seating and also very clean. Nice hotels in walking distance and Tulsa Police were also there directing traffic - I appreciate the presence of law enforcement after 11:00. Very nice experience and I would recommend to a friend.

The seating is too close together, especially for floor (concert) seats. The person next to me was half in my lap and elbowing me frequently. There needs to be an actual gap between chairs instead of lashing them together. I don't understand why they make everyone wait outside (in the rain too) until half an hour before the concert start time. No reason why they can't let people in as they come, starting a couple of hours beforehand.

Liked: Nice venue; convenient parking within walking distance.
Disliked: Having to stand outside for a long time to get in; seats too close together.
