Location and some historic charm were the only pluses for me.

Liked: Location; on-site restaurants; beautiful old tile floors.
Disliked: Incredibly noisy in the lounge area adjacent to the front desk. Dirty indoor/outdoor carpets in rooms; no safe in room; heavy hallway carpets made rolling suitcases difficult. Renovations appeared to be 20 years old, such as the use of gold-colored fixtures in the bathrooms.

Liked: Comfortable, roomy room that we paid $40 extra so we could check in early.
Disliked: Room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. This should never happen in a non-smoking property. No servers at the patio on Los Olas in the afternoon. Had to get our own drinks. Boathouse was closed, unless paying with cash and told by one person we could make a reservation for later that day and told by another person we could not. We have stayed at the Riverside several times and we were looking forward to another pleasant visit. The room needed to be freshened up (which it was after complaining), the lack of a server on the patio and the run-around at the Boathouse combined to make it a not-so-pleasant visit this time.

Disliked: The only problem was that upon arrival there was a fire alarm in the building. We walked down 10 flights of stairs only for it to be some child that was messing around with the fire alarm. The same thing happened the next morning and turned out to be a false alarm again. So frustrating!
