YHA Brighton Hostel

Exceptional

Liked: For the price i paid (bout 16 pounds a night) this went well over my expectations. the location was less than 20 minute walk from the train station and less than 5 minutes from the pier and beach, they had an elevator, the beds are so comfy best sleep ive had in a while, the facilities were great, the staff were friendly and it was very clean. I am definitely coming back here next time i come to brighton and encourage everyone who reads this to do so as well.
Disliked: this is me just nit picking but with summer coming up it would be nice for the rooms to have a fan or something to cool off cos it was very hot in the room.

Nice location and staff, needs...

Liked: Staff friendly, approachable and helpful. Great location near pier/sea front, towels in room nice, nice friendly vibe.
Disliked: Third bed not made, pillow and duvet were thin and sheet not nice texture on third bed. (different to the double and normal hostel single bedding) but staff were helpfull and found more bedding. Ladder to third bed not secre. Peeling walls. shower leaked and left big puddle. Kitchen could do with more cutlery/pans and a deep clean if nothing else;; baking trays left caked in fat and pans left with burnt contents so you had to scrub and scour before use (I am used to hostels and washing what I used before and after use). Paid for late check out so we could leave our luggage someshere secure for a few hours but came back to find staff had been in the room while we were out; the door notice saying late checkout was left on the floor of the room and the bathroom had been part cleaned...glad we were not still in bed!Otherwise; a little expensive compared to other hostels, friendly, good location. May use again but would ask for room at back to avoid being woken by noisy arguements outside in the early hours especially at the weekend!

Lovely staff and comfy bed!

Disliked: Maybe needs a bit of paint and refurbishment but overall a really nice stay.
