Wingate by Wyndham Convention Ctr Closest Universal Orlando

I booked this hotel online and paid in advance. When I checked in the girl at the front desk asked for my credit card then proceeded to swipe it, before telling me what she was charging me for. After I asked she told me they would hold $30 and return it in five days. When I logged into my bank account two days later, I noticed three different charges. They said we were smoking in the room. I don't smoke, and neither do the other two people that were there with me. That weekend the hotel was filled with rave kids and the whole floor smelled like marijuana and they said we smoked in the room. I tried to discuss the situation but the person who answered would not listen to me and hung up on me. I guess this is how the hotel makes their money, by stealing it from guests.

Good location

Liked: Clean spacious room, close to Universal, fast food stores in walking distance, coffee in lobby 7/24
Disliked: Breakfast was very poor, no honey, butter in micro boxes, low quality bread and cakes. Shuttle departure 8:15 although it takes a few minutes to park which opens at 9:00am. There could be an additional shuttle for 9:00, only because of early shuttle i paid 30$ daily for parking. Free shuttle was useless for us because we don't want to wake up unnecessarily early.

Disliked: Bathroom was poorly cleaned

Good value for distance to...

Liked: Good location close to Universal Studios and had a great complimentary breakfast.
Disliked: The room was a little dated and you could tell the ceiling had been repaired in the past from water damage.

Disliked: The shower curtain would not stay closed which had water outside of tub which large puddles of water resulting in having to get additional towels

Liked: Is close to Universal Studios.The rooms are clean.Staff is friendly.
Disliked: The breakfast is boring. There are not many options around the hotel within walking distance, in case you want to have lunch / dinner somewhere else.

Cheap hotel to stay while...

Liked: Spacious room and clean
Disliked: The breakfast was quite bad. The room was noisy, hearing the air conditioner of other rooms.
