Wheatsheaf Baslow by Marston's Inns

First time we stayed here. Lovely hotel. We stayed in room 5 which was one of the larger rooms. It had a bath and shower. Booked in online, so we were given the keys on arrival and was shown up to our room. After returning from our visit to Chatsworth House, which was only 5 minutes away, we booked a meal for 6:30pm. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast was extra as we did not book that online, but there were 3 - 4 different prices to choose from.

Liked: Area; room; food and staff were all excellent.
Disliked: The weather.

Liked: Everything measured up to our expectations and we are glad we stayed. We would be happy to stay again.
Disliked: The food was good value and pretty decent, good pub food, but not as good as other reviewers led us to believe. Baslow is a good location to explore from but not a great destination.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they couldn’t help anymore than they did. The food, breakfast and evening were lovely, would definitely stay again.

Liked: The bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: There was only half a toilet roll in the bathroom.2 x tea bags 2 x coffee - basically the room cost £150 and one could only have one cup of tea and one coffee. Also the back entrance to the carpark was also the back of the kitchens and was very dirty and scruff / chefs were out there smoking too. Also the beer garden was scruffy and tables were sticky with spilt drinks.
