Good but expensive

Liked: Very expensive for drinks which is a shame the hotel is beautiful but the beds wasn’t comfy at all
Disliked: The cost of the stay was extreme and it he price of drinks and food etc was over priced there is no need to charge so much

Unfair Hidden Charge EV charging

Liked: We have used the hotel quite a few times now as our daughter & her family moved to Derbyshire just over a year ago. The hotel staff are always accommodating & extremely helpful & friendly. The location is excellent & the hotel itself is clean & comfortable.
Disliked: We have an EV & always have to charge our vehicle whilst there, especially the night we arrive after almost a 190-mile journey & the night before we travel back. The cost is usually around £30 for a full charge. However, on this occasion, we were charged £95+ due to a new 'extra charge for leaving the charger plugged in after the charge was complete, £0.20 per minute after charging had finished. This was not advised in advance, only after the charge had been completed & would have meant getting up & going down to the vehicle at 01:30am to disconnect the charger! We also had to charge the car for our journey home... another inflated cost for a necessity!

Just ok

Liked: It’s a beautiful hotel however the corridors are too dark and there was only one towel in our bedroom for a family of 3. We booked including breakfast however there was barely anything available when we went down and had to wait quite a while as they were bringing out limited replacements.

Comfortable and nicely decorated

Liked: Clean, comfortable
Disliked: Older part where we attended a wedding didn’t have a lift so all formal dresses etc had to be carried up 2 floors. Also security key needed for outside door which wasn’t explained

Disliked: Lighting in corridors. Does it meet safety standards? If so, it shouldn'tEn suite. Shower without any grab rails. Soap and flannel had to be kept on the floorBed too smallWaiting staff in restaurant poorly trained. All staff pleasant without any authenticityFood over-salted. Breakfast buffet had small selection and missing components, e.g. fresh fruit (bananas), marmalade, fruit or herbal teas, tomatoes. Poor quality bread.
