A modern comfortable hotel that...

Liked: The study is modern clean and comfortable and is in a great location for anyone wanting to visit UChicago or its students. It is a great base for walks to various parts of the campus and the upper floors have good views. The rooms are large with comfortable beds, circulation space and good bathrooms. A particular interest are the many bookshelves placed in the lobby and in each of the rooms. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms but morning coffee is served free in the lobby in the morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Street parking outside is free and very convenient but can be busy during the working day - no need to pay for hotel parking. There is a well equipped Gym.
Disliked: There are no fridges or tea coffee facilities in the rooms. Frustrating if you are not intending on eating out all the time. The restaurant/bar downstairs has a nice atmosphere for a drink but we have eaten here on two separate visits and the food has been underwhelming on both occasions. Not actually bad but just not as good as you would expect. Eat in BarDavid next door or go into town.
