The Stephen F Austin Royal Sonesta Hotel

I adored staying at the Stephen F Austin hotel. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, the room was beautiful and comfortable, and it was next door to the theater where I went to a concert (Stateside at the Paramount). A super deal all the way around.

Liked: Wonderful hotel.

Did not live up to...

Liked: The location was great
Disliked: When we arrived there was someones hair pasted all over the wall of our shower. I requested 3 times that it be cleaned and even gave them times that we could not be in the room. Each time the staff came outside of those time frames and never cleaned it. I also requested turn down service that never happened. extremely disappointing for the price point.

My new go-to Austin hotel...

Liked: My room was very quiet. The doors did not slam like at some hotels. The fitness center was outstanding. Location could not have been much better. The valet guys were very nice and helped me with my Ubers. The shower nozzle was great. The hotel has been recently renovated.
Disliked: The breakfast was so/so. Room was a little small, but that's ok. Not much room on the bathroom sink/no vanity. That's part of staying at an older hotel.

Disliked: Room appeared to be in rundown condition. This hotel desperately needs renovation.

Disliked: Windows were very dirty. Carpet felt sticky. Needs a good cleaning.

Liked: Beautiful facilities. Room smelled great!
Disliked: Not super clean - hair on the walls of my room, panty liner wrapper under the dresser, cockroaches in the room and by the pool area, tub/shower in disrepair, grime on the foam in the hot tub, pool water was not clean.

Disliked: Room with a king size bed was way too small. We felt very crapped with no spare room
