Location is everything

Liked: The best thing about thi shotel is the location, when you arrive with the eurostar you just have to cross the street to check-in. Best part is king's cross is right outside the door so you can take any metro to anywhere in the city. Staff is friendly and welcoming
Disliked: this was my second stay and I did not hesitate to book them again for this trip, however I'm not sure I would book them again the next time. The biggest issue I had is that now they suddenly charge you 100pounds per night for 'incidentals' and anything you might charge to your room during your stay. That is a lot of money, way too much money in my opinion. I stayed 2 nights so that's 200pounds for 1 person! it's not mentioned when booking, i only found out the day before i was arriving. yes it gets reimbursed back into your account when you don't spend anything but still, that's 200 pounds of travel budget you'sre missing out on. And yes the hotel is very nice, staff is friendly, but I overheard they are now part of the hyatt group since may 2025 and it shows. It seems this has sucked all the personality out of the hotel and i did not experience the same vibe and atmosphere. Whereas before everyone was extremely welcoming, relaxed and able to show their own personality, now it's your standard hotel service. Still very friendly but think of it more like a robot, friendly but without personality.

Liked: Situated directly across from St Pancras International Station ‘The Standard’ is a super convenient base for anyone wanting to spend time in London.Check-in was straightforward and the staff were super friendly. I was located on the fourth floor with a partial view of Kings Cross. Bedroom was compact but it had everything I wanted plus space to sit when not using the bed. The bathroom was immaculately clean with a brilliant shower, loads of hot water and lovely scented body wash and shampoo.I opted to have breakfast in the hotel, the breakfast room is on the ground floor and all the tables are well spaced out. It’s set out in a buffet style with a selection of hot and cold options, juices that you can collect yourself and toast and hot drinks which are ordered from your table, if you do not wish to have scrambled eggs, the waiter or waitress will take your individual order as well so they are cooked to your preference.Had a fantastic day, the bed was super comfortable and the blackout blinds worked a treat, also it was very quiet and I couldn’t hear the road outside, even though it was very busy.Would absolutely recommend and come here again in the future. Liked: Loved the place, booked bc had a late dinner with friends and it was not convenient to go back home at night. Stayed in a windowless room, was a bit hesitant at first, but the room is superb! Spacious enough and has great facilities, bed is very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and nice. During the checkout we encountered Zii, he was generous with his time and showed us around and told more about the building. We are very pleased with our stay and will be back soon!

Disliked: The outside lift was off/not working. The rooftop bar - they asked us to leave for non residential bookings.
