Very good
Liked: The room was great but sadly no natural lighting even though the booking said it would have had a window.
Disliked: The rooftop bar staff where very rude so we did not have a drink there due to the staff being ignorant and snide and also on there mobile phone while serving us. The problem was resolved thanks to the duty manager but we will not attend the rooftop bar again if that is how it is going to be.

Liked: Great location, friendly staff, amazing roof top with great views
Disliked: Could do with some international ports/plugs in the room; only uK ones available so i could only charge one device at a time.

Not really worth it, but...
Liked: The Standard’s London location is conveniently located right across from St Pancras and Kings Cross Station and as we were arriving from Edinburgh and departing for Paris by train, it more than fit the bill in terms of location.The room was clean and stylish and the shower was strong and hot on demand.Loved the dimming lamps for the bedside.
Disliked: Another major draw to staying at the Standard are the bars and rooftop. I’m not sure when you have to book to enjoy the rooftop. It was always closed while we were there for one reason or another. And that’s the other major con to this property…there doesn’t seem to be any communication among staff and they do not lead with hospitality.I have several examples, but the best one is one afternoon, we attempted to visit the roof and were told it was closed for a private event. If true, they could save themselves a lot of energy by putting a sign in the lobby stating that, but I digress. We make our way up after our key cards didn’t work, a a security person granted us access to the floor and then we were told it was closed. Why didn’t that employee know? Anyway, there was another couple being refused entry onto the rooftop who also, somehow made their way onto the floor. The security person told us we could visit Sweetys on the 10th floor instead. I told the couple to follow us. Apparently the security staff they were talking to didn’t mention said alternative, so the gentleman said so…”you didn’t tell me there’s another bar?” And the response was and I’m not even kidding, “how would I know that you wanted to know that? I’m not a mind reader!” LOL.Ok, so we go to Sweetys, which is gorgeous. We order drinks and then after the fact, realize there’s a 2-for-1 special on select cocktails for Happy Hour. Now a normal place with any sense of hospitality would point that out. Just like “hey, by the way, if you wanted, these are on special.” But, of course, absolutely no mention.Our next drink order we placed was on special, but naturally, we were charged incorrectly. It was fixed upon mention.But my point is, it’s messy there.Upon our return from Paris, we stayed at 100 Shoreditch. Granted, totally different neighborhood, but such a different approach to hospitality at a clean, design-forward property.
