The Savoy Hotel

Very good

Liked: Great atmosphere and surroundings.Good Hotel for Bournemouth which is now very run down as a town.I have been coming here on and off for 60 years.The food was good and the hotel clean and presentable.Service was good but not exceptional.It's a four star hotel at best.Pool area is nice with a lovely outdoor terrace.South Beach restaurant is fine.Not quite Miami but a cute idea.
Disliked: The bed in our room was in the wrong place so you could only end up hitting your head on the inside wall of the dormer window which both my wife and I did.The bed should have been facing towards the windows.Poor storage facilities in bathroom with no shelving or cupboard space so bathroom bags just had to be left on the floor.No shaving mirror in bathroom.Main reception lift is tiny with two or three persons in its a squeeze.and you have to wait for it at busy times.The other modern slightly bigger lift is not so obvious unless it's pointed out to you.£27.00 per night for parking is steep for hotel guests.I get that they can charge this for non residents but for hotel guests I think they should do better.They call it valet parking but as the car park adjoins the hotel self parking would be no hardship.

Liked: Love the relaxed atmosphere and general vibe Quality of food really good and excellent value for money.
Disliked: Over night parking charge nearly doubled from last year … now £27 was £15 !!Breakfast should include Latte vs just filtered coffee …

Disliked: Service charge added to everything- very annoying

Liked: Absolutely amazing stay we had amazing weather so used the outside pool lazed around was lovely! Comfy bed beautiful decorative room. The whole hotel every detail was amazing
Disliked: Not many staff members around the outside pool area. When you exit the hotel by the bottom gate towards the beach front there is two homeless people unfortunately sleeping rough. As sad as it is for them the area is covered in rubbish and doesn’t fit in well with the hotel area. This is what you look at straight ahead of the hotel. They do need to be moved on. Otherwise no other issues directly with the hotel fabulous stay
