Quality stay and felt like...

Liked: The quality of everything was exceptional. From the moment we pulled up to the front door with the doorman taking our bags to the front desk clerk who even sent up a piece of cake to wish us happy birthday to the comfortable beds and amazing food from room service. Such a treat and will save our penny’s up to come back.
Disliked: Only downfall was no pool

Terrible staff, terrible experience. There...

Liked: I thought long and hard about leaving this review, but now that it has been a few weeks since my stay, my experience there just kept bothering me so I’ve decided to leave a review and give you my 100% honest opinion about this establishment. Most of my stay was pleasant enough except for a bellman and a waiter who were very VERY rude to me and my wife, enough to ruin our overall stay. This is because apparently I didn’t tip them according to their “expectations.” The first guy (bellman) brought my bags up from the curbside to the check-in desk (about 50ft) and I couldn’t tip him because I had just gotten off a plane and had no cash on me. He stood there like an asshole for almost a minute waiting for me to turn to him so I could hand him a tip, then he became the rudest SOB as he stormed off, openly commenting about me not tipping him to his colleague as he walked away. The second guy (waiter) apparently didn’t like that I only left him a $10 tip on a $20 dollar meal. I literally only had an ice-cream sundae at 11pm before bedtime but apparently, in his mind, I was supposed to give him more than a 50% tip. No wonder both of these men are over 50 years old and still working a basic service job. Such a smarmy sense of entitlement. I kept my mouth shut about this because my wife and I were celebrating her birthday and I didn’t want my temper to ruin her celebration as we are members of the Fairmont Club. However, I will never again stay at the Plaza, a place I’ve wanted to visit since I was a kid watching Home Alone 2. I blame management for allowing tipping culture to become so toxic within this establishment. If anyone from the Plaza wishes for me to identify the workers mentioned above, I’d be more than happy to, but I doubt anyone at this hotel cares. I’m writing this review, which will be copied elsewhere online, for those of you thinking of staying at a place that commands a hefty price yet cannot keep their minimum wage staff in line. What a waste.

Not satisfied at all.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: During the check in time I was told to wait on the side because they made mistake by putting my first name as my surname. After arriving in the room we found that clean towels were on the floor. Upon trying to turn on heating of the floor in the bathroom we realized that it’s not working,we called maintenance and the maintenance guy comes checked and goes 2 times saying that he need to check for parts and never showed again we waited for more than an hour not being able to relax. Also we addressed issue to the front desk and we been told that they’re going to follow up with maintenance guy. When we come back late in the night we realized that no one did anything and heating was not fixed. After that before we went to bed we wanted to close window blinds but we found that chain was broken,we called maintenance guy again and he showed up and fixed it was almost 2am and we were not able to relax because of need to call him and wait for that to be fixed. Also we told him about heating of the floor in the bathroom and he briefly checked and said it can’t be fixed it sounded to us like he knew that it was not working already from before. At the end in the morning when we go to check out when we try to address our problems during the stay the lady on the front desk was talking on the phone totally ignored us and just checked us out not even paying attention to what we have to say. Overall very bad experience for the price tag which we pay we expected more.
