An expensive treat that fell...

Liked: Food was good. Bed comfortable.Great circular walk from the hotel.
Disliked: Bedroom with gap between bathroom and bed felt too tight and not relaxing. Visiting in March and having log burners at home - it felt a bit depressing on a grey wet night in a sitting room with a fireplace but no fire. Apparently the fire doesn’t work well so they don’t light it. I suggested spending some money and putting a liner up as this is something that comes up in the reviews. The bar area whilst having a fire is not comfortable - only a couple of soft chairs mainly benches and hard chairs. A small country hotel needs comfy chairs and a fire.

Enjoyable dinner & overnight stay...

Liked: Interesting old building in nice quiet situation. Lovely, welcoming & helpful staff. Comfortable suite.
Disliked: Lighting in the room much too dim. Would have liked a make up mirror in the bathroom.

Liked: Beautiful location and very clean and comfortable
Disliked: On arrival the receptionist was very curt and unresponsive. Did not meet and greet in a friendly or courteous manner.
