Characterful old coaching inn, which...
Liked: Location is excellent, decor of room was lovely with smart colour palette. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and tea and coffee were replenished every day. Breakfast is included in the price which is a bonus.
Disliked: The beds are not the comfiest and could do with upgrading. The fact that ours was a sleigh bed was awkward as tall people struggle with banging their feet! The bathroom whilst functional and clean was dated and would definitely benefit from a refurb. There is no air conditioning and we were there during a particularly hot spell. They did however provide a fan which helped.

Convenient and friendly hotel
Liked: I like the separate entrance from the pub itself, and there is a nice beer garden at the back. Room perfectly adequate for what I needed. Location good and places to eat round about. Really appreciated the effort on the vegan breakfast - thank you.

Perfect location, comfortable stay and...
Liked: Perfect central location in Dronfield, with everything I needed within the town being in easy walking distance. Homely pub atmosphere generally, with very well presented rooms upstairs. Single room 5 was compact, but as it’s for sleep and with a comfortable single bed, further space would be surplus to needs. The full English breakfast is exceptional and amongst the best I have eaten- everything freshly cooked and presented with care. Friendly, approachable staff and good beer made it as pleasurable a stay as possible, given the purpose of my visit.
Disliked: The floorboards at times creaked from movement in adjacent rooms / corridor, during later evening hours, although this wasn’t intrusive, once asleep. It may be noticeable by lighter sleepers, however. It’s a centuries -old building after all, so not a significant issue and part of the character.

Liked: Excellent breakfast and really friendly staff
Disliked: Ensuite bathroom door was a bit strange and didn't afford full privacy. OK if you know the person you are staying with!
