Cosy & luxury stay
Liked: Lovely layout, quaint lodge & close to beach & town, but also felt secluded and had a cottage style to it, we loved it! Staff were extremely polite and genuinely happy, very kind to us. The facilities were great and unexpected! Will be back

It's a nice place to...
Liked: Nice location. Nice pool. Friendly helpful staff,
Disliked: Food wasn't great - specifically the burger was a bit tough. Interior vibe was very much of a fitness club/golf club rather than a hotel. Which to be fair it is!

Very good
Liked: Room very nice. Breakfast very good. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room excellent.
Disliked: Bit awkward watching TV when sitting on bed. Mini fridge in room would be nice.

Tranquil base for exploring Bournemouth
Liked: A warm and friendly welcome, and we were allowed to check in a little early after a five-hour drive. My room was spacious and comfortable. Lovely bed linen and excellent pillows. Decent amount of hanging space in the clothes-storage area of the room. Nice bathroom. I had a drink in the bar on the first evening of my stay and the service was very friendly. It's a pleasant relaxing room.I like being surrounded by trees. The whole site feels quiet and tranquil despite being in central Bournemouth and only a short distance from the busy Wessex Way. There is some distant traffic noise but it's not at all disturbing. Having a free car park onsite is a definite bonus too. It's a ten-minute walk to the Square where all Bournemouth's shops and nightlife start. This is a very good base for exploring Bournemouth.
Disliked: My room was very warm ( I stayed in mid-August) and there's no air-conditioning. I managed to keep the room temperature acceptable by keeping the windows open. In fairness I didn't ask for a fan, and I know from previous stays that some of the rooms do have air-conditioning.My travelling companion was in Room 17, a "standard" room, and it was a bit small and dark, with quite narrow twin beds. I think it must have been the only room they had available, and it's not the best. The rooms at the bottom of the slope, 15 to 17 are probably all a bit dark. But I've stayed in room 14 before, also a standard room but at ground floor level, and that was absolutely fine, spacious and surrounded by trees.Oh, not that this was a particular problem in such warm weather, but the water temperature in the bathroom was never higher than lukewarm. Again, in fairness I didn't talk to reception about this. My travelling companion said that the water temperature in his shower was fine.

Very welcoming staff. Clean, modern...
Liked: Staff very friendly. Warm sincere welcome. Facilities great. Bar staff super friendly. Breakfast/Lunch good.
Disliked: Access into the pool. Steps into the pool are vertical, sore under feet. People with mobility problems will find it extremely challenging! Steps from changing area down to the pool, spa, sauna etc., are very step and lots of them. Stair lift was out of action, shame.
