The Spotlight on The LINE Hotel DC

Historic Vibes Meet Modern Cool in Adams Morgan

Modern, eclectic, and effortlessly stylish, The LINE Hotel DC is set inside a transformed 20th-century neoclassical church in the heart of the vibrant Adams Morgan neighborhood. Just under 2 miles from downtown DC and close to top concert spots, this boutique hotel blends stunning architectural details—like 60-foot vaulted ceilings and brass accents—with contemporary comforts and a creative edge.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel hits the sweet spot for music lovers. With easy access to both Dupont Circle and Columbia Heights Metro stations, getting to your concert—whether it’s at 9:30 Club, The Anthem, or Capital One Arena—is quick and hassle-free. After the show, head back to a stylish space that’s surprisingly quiet for its central location. The LINE’s flexible check-in (3 PM) and check-out (12 PM) times leave room for a relaxed recovery, and the on-site café and bar keep the night going if you're not ready to head to bed.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a fun, design-forward base
- Solo travelers chasing that dream concert experience
- Couples making a weekend of it in DC
- Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space
- Budget-conscious music fans who still want a unique stay (especially when deals are available)

Food and Drink Options

No Goodbyes—the hotel’s all-day restaurant, bar, café, and coffee shop—offers late-night bites, local flavors, and craft cocktails, all under one roof. Craving something post-show? You’ll love the 24/7 options from the café, and there’s breakfast available well into the late morning for those slow starts after a big night.

Nightlife Options

Start your night with a drink at the on-site bar, or head up to the rooftop for sweeping views of the city skyline, including the Washington Monument. The LINE also houses a live broadcast radio station, adding a cool local music edge. Just outside the hotel, Adams Morgan offers a mix of bars, lounges, and live music spots to keep the energy going.

What People Say

Guests rave about the unique architecture, Instagram-worthy design, and friendly staff. Many highlight the convenient location for exploring DC’s nightlife and music venues, while others love the comfortable beds and luxe amenities like robes and slippers for post-show unwinding.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that valet parking is on the pricey side, and a few found the room lighting a bit dim. But for concert-goers who plan to be out enjoying the city, these are minor trade-offs for such a stylish and well-located stay.

The Bottom Line

With its vibrant location, late-night flexibility, and design-savvy atmosphere, The LINE Hotel DC is a perfect home base for music fans looking to experience the best of Washington’s concert scene.

Beautiful building, but over priced...

Liked: The beds are the best part other than the coffee shop
Disliked: Some of the front desk staff acted like they really didn’t want to be there, less than friendly

I would never stay in...

Liked: The staff moved my room on night number four to a quieter floor and location.
Disliked: Great care must be taken if you book this hotel. The water in the taps dribbles out, the cleanliness is only so-so.The most important thing is to specify where your room will be located. I was located in a room above trash, truck and deliveries where the noise levels kept me awake. I was woken at 3 am the first night I managed to sleep with the banging and clanging. For three nights until they could move me I had very little sleep. Also, the neighboring bar had loud music until 12:50 in the morning one night. The light on a neighboring porch was on and off all night long also.

Beautiful surroundings but lacks customer...

Liked: The building is beautiful and the location is walkable and safe with lots of variety to eat and drink.
Disliked: Housekeeping. At 11pm, when I was in bed almost asleep, housekeeping came into my room. I yelled "excuse me" and she left apologetic, but I'm wondering why that even happened. I was shaken, and it took me a while to fall back asleep. The water temperature. That night I took a shower and the water was so hot I scalded myself and then the next morning around 8:30 I went to get into the shower again and it was frigid and wouldn't warm up. I called the front desk to let them know and they said they would send engineering up. I asked them for a couple of minutes to get dressed and they said "sure". Engineering didn't show up until 10:15, at that time the water was warmer, and not scalding, but I was ready to go do other things and didn't bother. The front desk extended my checkout to 12pm, which was fine, but felt inadequate, especially after the incident with housekeeping the night before. The engineer was very nice when he came by. The shower. The showerhead in general does not offer a pleasant showering experience. The water comes out like a faucet all at once and the soap dispensers didn't pump out the soap, I had to unscrew them to get anything out.I don't often complain, but no one offered to help or apologize for the housekeeping incident which feels like a safety concern and then the hotel double-charged me.. and now I'm just frustrated.

Bad

Disliked: Paid $450 security deposit on arrival. We pre paid fees a month in advance and did not incur any additional expenditure. Checked out 26 March and despite numerous emails, phone calls and assurances that it had been released it has not. Almost 30 days later I’m going to have to address this with my bank. Be careful if you’re on a budget or near your credit card limit. A nice enough hotel but frankly not worth the hassle. Very disappointed.
