Exceptional

Liked: The location, the quiet, the friendliness of the staff and the beer.
Disliked: The chips with the evening meal, they were soggy. Spoiled the mixed grill.

Wow - beyond expectations

Liked: The location of the hotel was excellent. Out in the countryside with fantastic views but easy to reach even by bus if necessary. It was busy but not noisy so sleeping with windows open wasn’t difficult. Breakfast was really good - all freshly cooked and not buffet style like a lot of places. So good in fact that that we were surprised to see how many non-residents were arriving to eat there at 9am. It was great to see how popular it was with families and couples alike. The room was modern and old at the same time with a couple of quirky fittings but beautifully fitted out (especially the bathroom) and immaculately clean. We will definitely be staying again when next in the area.
Disliked: The car park was a little tight but given its popularity not surprising and the pillows were a little too hard for my liking but these were minor issues given the bigger picture.

Good accommodation, friendly staff but...

Liked: Good location. Very good room, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast good.
Disliked: Dinner was disappointing. Food quite basic even though menu sounded better. One person in party gluten intolerant and the meal that arrived was different to the description in the menu and this is quite concerning for someone with an allergy as it puts doubt in their mind as to whether the food is suitable.
