Angela, Littlestown, visiting Madison Square Garden Thu, 3 August 2017
The place is clean, safe, attractive. The staff is well trained. However, when you do not get the room you booked and have to squeeze 7 people into a room for 4, it greatly reduces your ability to enjoy your stay. We literally were stepping on each other for three days. We could not unpack our things because there was no room. I booked 6 months in advance because it was important for us to have the room we asked for. This was my fourth time staying at this hotel. I will not be returning again.
Liked: The staff was very nice and did their best to help us.
Disliked: I booked a suite 6 months ago. Checked in 3 hours early but did not get my room I was promised. They ended up putting me and my 6 guests in a room meant for 4 people.

Old rooms good location
Liked: The location is great the staff was very friendly and nice
Disliked: The room was nothing like the pictures. Everything was very old . The shower was so small and old we understood why they didn?t put pictures of the shower on their page..

Liked: It's right next to Penn Station, which means it's very convenient.
Disliked: The cost and the noise. The cost is unavoidable. New York City is expensive by definition. The noise might be improved, however. The hotel would probably benefit from double-glazed windows and additional sound insulation.

Good central and comfortable though...
Liked: The location was very central and the hotel has a beautiful lobby. The staff were fantastic, especially the porters who were so helpful to us carrying boxes to and from our room as we were parttaking in a trade fair.
Disliked: Due to the location being so central, it was very noisy at night. They even provide ear plugs so if you are a light sleeper, you might find it difficult. The pictures of the rooms online show an ultra modern, bright room. The beds were super big and comfy but I felt the room felt a little grubby due to old carpet and a very basic bathroom. For the rate, I expected a little more however, I guess the location is mostly what formulates the rate. In the lobby, it feels like a top class hotel but the rooms dont really.

Loud and expensive, maybe its...
Liked: central location, close to everything
Disliked: The windows might as well be cardboard. The built in AC lets through all the cold, wind and noise, and there is a lot of noise even 10+ floors above the ground. Not a minute passes by without some car honking and at least once an hour some siren goes off. Last night some road work was going on until midnight and the room was as loud as inside of a moving subway

Worst experience I've ever had....
Liked: Very good location. Close to the Madison Square Garden
Disliked: The worst sofa bed I've ever seen. Really not comfortable. Really old. The room was not clean and they did the cleaning only once in 3 nights. Really noisy room. Windows are not noise-cancelling and the hotel is on 7th Avenue. The hotel doesn't want to put the heat at 55 Fahrenheit (12 Celsius). It was really really cold inside the room. The front desk was horrible. We had to wait more than an hour to have a blanket because it was really cold inside the room. The room was also shaking every time the subway goes below the hotel.
