Room with a view was...

Liked: The view from our room was exceptional and exceeded expectations.
Disliked: The water pressure was very poor so that it took a great deal of time to wash, The bath taps were unable to function properly due to the extremely low water pressure. The room was tired with some of the trim in the bathroom missing. The evening meal on offer was dreadful but the breakfast was good.

We enjoyed our stay here...

Liked: Location was excellent and building was very nice ,however we were stuck in a tiny end of the hotel in small rooms that must have been above the kitchens where they were constantly moving bins about banging and clanging .
Disliked: the building itself is impressive with corridors and big dinning room and bars ,all was well for us as a last minute booking

Great location and great building

Liked: Location of the hotel is perfect to be closer to the beach/promenade quickly. the lay by to drop off luggage is very handy and helps who is disable or unable to walk much. The room had a new refurbished bathroom. The room itself maintain the 'Victorian' style which makes it unique. The whole building has that feel. They refurbished the main sitting area, new chesterfield sofas and newly redecorated pillars. The gardens are well kept, little smoking area, the rest is a non smoking. Tables and parasols outside, pretty for the summer. The bar area well looked after, good selection of drinks (hotel prices!!). They have pizza served in the main bar- we had one and was very nice, not a big selection but enough to satisfy most.
Disliked: The curtains in the room were very dusty and so the throw over the bed had stains from previous users.I asked for an extra pillow at reception at 8.30pm and they said was going to bring it to us in our room. No pillow was sent and my night sleep was not great. In the morning I asked again in reception but no pillow was provided. I saw a chambermaid in the corridor and within 10 minutes she provided me with a nice pillow complete of clean pillowcase.

Enjoyable trip

Liked: The staff , stay about 2 times a month , we are local but if we're having a night out we will stay here , usually get a free room upgrade , buffet is excellent, gardens are a joy to have a beer and relax in .
Disliked: The price of breakfast is ridiculous, I remember it being about 7 not that long ago , and u must remember a buffet breakfast usually means everything is sat around so eggs are hard , beans Luke warm , the dinner is better value for money
