Overall, for the price, it...

Liked: We liked that our room did not have carpet, but instead had vinyl hardwood flooring, our two queen beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional, but needs to be remodeled. We needed additional towels, and some toiletries, and the staff brought those items promptly, even though we arrived around 10:30pm. Based on the reviews I read about this hotel, I was braced for the worst, but was pleasantly surprised. The surrounding area was safe, I was not fearful of our safety or our car being broken into, and the room was a lot nicer than expected. I did learn that the rooms on the side of the hotel we stayed on were recently fixed up, so perhaps the negative reviews were from folks who stayed on the older side. The owner told us they were working to renovate the other side as well. Another thing that was a pleasant surprise was the restaurant separate from the hotel but on the property. We went there for breakfast and had a very wonderful meal. Our server was excellent as was the food. It's not fancy by any stretch, but it's a comfortable and safe stay. I also liked that they had a water cooler in the lobby that had hot and cold filtered water that you could fill your water bottles. The water was tasty.
Disliked: Our TV worked, but it had a blue tint. Needs to be replaced. The mirror over the desk was not hung well and needed to be taken off the wall and propped on the desk because it would not stay up, and we were afraid it would fall off and break.
