Disliked: My first night stay no heating very cold but once fixed the stay was amazing

Liked: The location was great and the staff were very helpful
Disliked: The room was very noisy with a fire door close by that was very noisy when it closed, this door was opening and closing until early morning. The smoke alarm was above the bed and was continually flashing so was like trying to sleep in a disco.I payed extra for a better room with a lake view, although the room was nice to say it had a lake view was pushing it as I had to squint to get a small glance of the lake in a small gap in the trees that were directly outside my window.I thought it was expensive for room only when other people that checked in as i was checking in got a far better deal for b&b + evening meal

Liked: Lovely location, beautiful room and gorgeous breakfast room, bar, lounge and library. Nice to walk around the gardens and view some of the lake. Friendly staff, and great breakfast. It felt like a real treat to stay somewhere so beautiful. Staff were really helpful, recommending where to eat in the evening (the restaurant was unfortunately closed: but this doesn't seem to be a frequent occurrence), finding times to book us in for breakfast etc. Thank you 😁

Pleasant

Liked: Lovely location and building. Our room (amaryllis) was large, period style, clean and very pleasant surprise.
Disliked: The lift was not working but as we were leaving the engineers were there so it was good to see it was being fixed (not a problem for us but for others it would have been). Breakfast is made to order which is good, but limited to just full English, cereals and fruit. It would be good to update the menu to include avocado on toast, eggs Benedict etc..

It was Ok however expensive for one night

Disliked: The staff at breakfast were very grumoy. The hotel itself needs a new lease of life, very dated and sad.
