New Bath Hotel

nice location cheap good facilities...

Liked: nice location good price and facilities
Disliked: room smelt fusty or mouldy which was very off putting even though it had been refurbished

A comfortable stay and price...

Liked: The room was very comfortable if a bit on the small side. The Bathroom was very nice with a Rain Shower, which took a while to get the temperature right. Breakfast was ok to suit most needs
Disliked: There is no lift in the Hotel, which could be a problem if you have mobility issues

Great value for money.

Liked: Location was good. Quiet room and free parking.
Disliked: The room was missing a booklet of info about the area. Phone wasn’t working either so had to go to reception for anything. Maybe the room wasn’t ready because there were no water bottles either.

Liked: Staff were very warm and welcoming,were also able to help with everything.
Disliked: Room had a few stains in places & window only opened a small amount. Which left room hot in a summer evening.

Liked: It was quite close to Matlock Bath. A pleasant walk.
Disliked: The hotel had had some modifications to the ground floor reception area since we were there last year. The breakfast room/food serve area was approached up a step which I didn't feel safe about. There was a shortage of coffee, milk on both mornings. Replenishment was slow.On our first night, we had to call maintenance to replace the plugs in the bath and sink which didn't work. Also we had a sewage type smell blowing into our bedroom, which was quite sickening after a while. It could be smelt through the night as well. Tv remote wouldn't work properly. Only one bedside cabinet on one side of the bed, in the middle would have been better if not one on each side.

Disliked: The annexe at the back of the hotel was literally falling apart. Rotting wood ceiling on stairwell falling in green algae/moss on the corridor carpet never experienced anything like in my life.Thankfully we managed to get our room changed as we had booked a twin-bedded room. We were changed to the actual hotel. Even here the carpets were very dirty. Our new room was very nice but I don't think the cleaner knew how to clean. The room was spoiled because of this. Refurbished room lovely bathroom but already black mould growing in places which was a shame.Had we not been moved to the hotel we would have asked for a full refund and left.Would not recommend unless you make sure you're booked into the hotel not the annexe
