Great value for a one...

Liked: Quiet area, nice street near a small park. Breakfast was really good. Lots of choice and well cooked. Room and bathroom were clean though very basic. Very much student accommodation. My bed was comfortable. The accommodation is very secure. Good value for money and perfect for a one night stay.
Disliked: Staff seemed a bit disinterested. The rooms need new carpets and curtains. I know these are student accommodation rooms, but even as a student I would be thinking this needs a complete overhaul. Or at least redecorating. We shared a bathroom with 2 other rooms. This wasn't a problem. However our room door was so creaky that when one of us got up in the middle of the night to go and use the bathroom which was off the landing, the noise of opening the door woke the other one up. Not a massive problem but irritating all the same. Lots of quite narrow stairs up to our 3rd floor room. Ok for us but avoid if disabled or have large bags.

Urgently needs a full refurbishment!

Liked: The only positives I can come up with are the location, the price and the fact that the mattress was actually decent!
Disliked: I booked a single room with a shared bathroom. I’ve stayed in student halls plenty of times and thought I knew what to expect, i.e.no frills basic but decent accommodation. However, this was the worst one I’ve been to. The room looked like a magnolia prison cell, it was off a tiny corridor with three other bedrooms, one toilet and one shower. The furniture took up nearly all the space, the wardrobe blocked half the window, and some of the desk drawers couldn’t be used as the bed was in the way. The whole room looked incredibly shabby and there was a lot of ingrained dirt around the sink fixtures. The tiny room with the toilet in was pretty grim, there was liquid on the floor which I can only hope was water, and the shower room also needed a really good update, there were stains on the shower tray and it just generally looked neglected. Thankfully I only stayed for a night, I genuinely feel sorry for the students who live here for months at a time!
