La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Bakersfield South

Not in a very good part of town. Hard to get into the driveway - very sudden turn. Had to wait for the room to be ready. The price of the room was good but I won't stay there again.

Liked: It was fairly close to the Rabobank Arena.
Disliked: Hotel is old. Room had an order to it. Bathroom almost impossible to move around it. Very small toilet.

It was ok

Liked: The personnel were very nice.
Disliked: I asked for non smoking room, and I got a room that reeked of smoke.

Bad

Liked: I liked that the price was decent for a quick stop to sleep.
Disliked: Upon walking into the room and bathroom there were cockroaches in both rooms by the few.

Liked: Breakfast good & hotel was close to freeway, but, getting there was confusing for anyone not familiar with the street layout.
Disliked: The bathroom faucet was partially broken and starting to come loose from the sink

Liked: Unfortunately there was no positive comments to make!
Disliked: SEVERE LACK OF CLEANLINESS, meager breakfast items - no protein just CARBS!

We managed but will not...

Liked: We tried to like the meager “free breakfast” choices. The yogurt was grainy - most likely frozen before thawing and serving! The one person staff struggled to keep the coffee pot full - plus there was not a hot plate or burner on the coffee maker or near it to keep one pot warm while the second pot was brewing - UNACCEPTABLE!
Disliked: Understaffed and receptionist couldn’t find our reservation’s. The first room was pitiful - the dust, debris and totally unmaintained AC/heat unit was UNSAFE, A HEALTH HAZARD and UNACCEPTABLE!My next communication will be to the Bakersfield CA health department!The second room had what I would call a dining room chair, a king bed and a desk chair EXTREMELY SPARTAN! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Poor

Liked: Everything else was fine.
Disliked: I will never come back here. Despite the fact that I reserved and paid for the room myself, the front desk worker refused to look at, speak to, or hand things directly to me, opting to address and hand things to my boyfriend instead. Including things I needed to sign.

Liked: A hot breakfast would be much better.
Disliked: Squeaky Steel bedframe
