Jenny Wiley State Resort was...

Liked: We never left the room, traveling from Tampa FL with handicapped mother to visit relatives in Ashland KY. We relaxed in cabin and on the deck overlooking the marina. We brought along our own groceries and ate in room. Attempted to book another overnight to our reservation, but unit 308 was already booked. We liked all the amenities at (JWSRP) and have stayed in numerous state resorts across KY over the years.
Disliked: Everything was perfect, but too short a stay. Will be back soon.

Very good

Liked: This was such a great place! My mom and I had a cabin across the marina.
Disliked: AC messed up

Disappointing

Liked: Staff were friendly but offered no information on the park.Room was clean.
Disliked: I did not like or appreciate the Halloween statues that were in an office behind the front desk. That was not appropriate for a state park, and for that reason, we will not come back until they are taken down. Who wants to see scary when they come to relax. Are you a family park service or a horror show. I will not be recommending Jenny Wiley to anyone until that is taken care of. Really hate to complain, but I've never experienced anything like that at any other place I've stayed.

Disliked: Wanted a view of lake, was never told that the cabin was on the other side away from the lake.

Need better service over Christmas...

Liked: That you could hike to the lodge and the lake. Everything was centrally located. Dog friendly.
Disliked: That everything was closed inside the lodge and we weren't notified until check-in. We didn't receive the continental breakfast, no activities to do on site for children, no bar/restaurant to eat at over a holiday. No staff available to fix the issues at the cabin. Mostly upset that we had to go buy groceries when we booked a place with a restaurant. They rushed us to check in because they wanted to close at 4pm. They requested we send someone to pickup the keys because we live out of state. Our cabin was supposed to have a grill but there wasn't a grill. We had to use a grill down at another cabin. We were supposed to have access to a washer and dryer but we didn't.

Peaceful Getaway From City Life

Liked: I loved the vintage feel, the fact that many generations lived and worked there. It has a charm about the place and of course a small town feel. We even had a friendly rooster come inside our cabin to say hello, I had to laugh :) I can say the sheets, pillow cases and towels were very clean! There is a kitchen with cooking supplies. The lodge was pretty and outside it were many places to sit and watch the pretty fog roll in...
Disliked: The comforter, curtains and mattress are woefully outdated and cause a musty odor about the place. I did notice the oven and fridge had rust on them, but that's not a big deal. The sheets were clean but I didn't go near the torn, old comforter. I got some candles to ease the smell, but the place was not dirty, it was very clean :)
