Enjoyed the breakfast both mornings...
Liked: Breakfast was very good - no complaints at all about that! Location was also good apart from being on a busy roundabout - the double glazing did help though!
Disliked: The room was the worst we have ever stayed in and that's including overseas hotels! The room itself was not only the most basic but also filthy dirty! There is tea/coffee spilt down the wall under the window and the skirting is thick with muck at the side of the table! All the skirtings are dirty and the stains on the bathroom floor are unbelievable! Everything was supposed to have been super cleaned when covid was rife but that room hasn't been cleaned for years!!!!We were going to complain but we decided against it as we had gone there hoping for a hassle free break! There was nothing nice at all in that room - it needs a complete overhaul and they could even go mad and put a picture up on a wall - even basic isn't the right word!!!!!!!!

Cheap cheerful and bang for...

Disappointing
Liked: The staff when I rang up where helpful
Disliked: Both our rooms were sparse and depressing / looking tired re the décor. Our room had a light out over the bathroom mirror, toilet took a double flush to clear any use of it and the kettle on/off switch was broken (all issues reported to housekeeping the next morning). Our sons in the next room heard our phone alarm go off in the morning (thin walls?). Even though we asked for quiet rooms and we were considerately placed in front facing rooms (the quiet side of the hotel?) they were not quiet especially if you prefer as we do to sleep with the window slightly ajar, this is because the road out the front was a main roundabout. When we arrived there was only 1 space left and that was a disabled car parking space. We did not therefore consider our stay value for money I am afraid.

A mixed bag
Liked: Location is close to the town centre across two main roads.
Disliked: Main roads on both sides of the hotel cause constant noise and the hotels double glazing does little to suppress this.£9.50 a head for breakfast when the town is only a short walk away was a cost to high for us.
