I would stay again if I visited Newport, RI.
Liked: Beautiful room with plenty of storage. Muffled noise really well. I never heard my neighbors coming and going. Also, the staff were all attentive and polite.
Disliked: I didn't like that I couldn't turn the fan down or off. My room was across from the roof top patio and the music was very loud. It felt like the music was right in my room.

Disliked: Had to change rooms because the bed was covered with stains from body fluids (pictures available)and could not sleep after that

Never again will I stay...
Liked: The bed and pillows were very comfortable which was a good thing.
Disliked: The bed and pillows were very comfortable which was a good thing, Since there was NO HEAT in our room so ALOT of time was spent under A BLANKET. Seems that the boiler was out for those two days but the hotel neglected to tell us; I called for an additional blanket which took over 1.5 hours to get. The room on the two coldest days in Newport was below 50 degrees. No movie channels was another negative the staff neglected to mention Dish or Direct TV didn't have a contract. As far a check out; I did have a gift certificate that they didn't know how to apply so they charged my card and then refunded the card then charged my card again and used the gift certificate and told me funds would be available in 3-5 days. I wanted to relay my complaints to the on site manager and left no less than 5 VM's without a call back to date. After looking forward to our Thanksgiving retreat at the Viking Hotel I will no longer be booking this property.

Liked: The room decor was beautiful. The newly upgraded entry a welcome change into a more contemporary feel.
Disliked: My partner booked a better room for $150 less than I had paid for my choice. Very discouraging and likely will make me think about searching a bit more before booking impulsively again. I would have appreciated a credit by booking.com as this was my second experience with pricing that was far more than what others staying in the same room paid. We had friends staying at the first place I booked with you who had a nicer room than we did on the same weekend and paid $200 less than I. That was at America's Cup back a few months back. Very discouraging.

Liked: Lovely property, updated and modern, but without losing that historic appeal. Convenient location and within easy walking distance to coffee, restaurants and shops. The staff was pleasant and the valet service did a great job of making our car available as soon as requested. We stayed over a holiday weekend and the decorations were beautifully arranged.
Disliked: The lobby area, with the bar and restaurant so very close by, was lovely looking but always felt a little too chaotic for my taste. It is an issue that can?t be easily remedied, and I can see how the lounge-type alcoves off the registration desk would offer a quieter alternative.

The staff and location made...
Liked: Staff and location were great. Fire pit and s'mores were a bonus but didn't use. Yoga instructor was great.
Disliked: Can't put my finger on it but bed could have been more comfortable. Hot water faucet in sink was loose and handles hit mirror. Refrigerator in room was not on so drinks were warm and not worth purchasing.
