I would stay again if I visited Newport, RI.
Liked: Beautiful room with plenty of storage. Muffled noise really well. I never heard my neighbors coming and going. Also, the staff were all attentive and polite.
Disliked: I didn't like that I couldn't turn the fan down or off. My room was across from the roof top patio and the music was very loud. It felt like the music was right in my room.

Enjoyed the hotel. We wished...
Liked: Beds were extra comfortable...
Disliked: Time on cleaning rooms... we went out and then returned .. the room was still not cleaned. So we choose not to have it cleaned. you could use more help getting the rooms cleaned in a more timely manner.

Liked: Location, bell staff, spacious room
Disliked: Housekeeping never came, called 3 times for clean glasses.

Liked: The location was, about 10 minutes drive to the mansions and 5 minute drive to downtown. Also easily walkable. Historical hotel exterior makes it special. Also, bikes are available complimentary to guests. My husband and I rode our own bikes to the mansions which was fun.
Disliked: A bulk of the rooms are actually in a new wing which seems to be a renovated 60s building. It has terrible sound proofing and we could hear any conversation two doors down. Bathrooms look like they are from the 70s. The hotel was at full capacity on Columbus Day weekend and seems to be completely understaffed. While polite and apologetic, no one had time to pick up the phone when we tried to call housekeeping. At some points on Saturday during check in hours there was only one person available at check in. Signage is poor and different elevators led to different things, which took us a while to figure out (as nobody pointed it out). At one point over the weekend, the elevator for us stopped working and we had to use the stairs. For the not low price tag the experience was almost like that of a Marriott courtyard or Hampton Inn.

Expensive but for the location...
Liked: Good location, staff friendly impressive response to issues we had. Valet parking very efficient
Disliked: The service In the restaurant was very variable, the last two breakfasts we had ,there was little or no service, we had to wait a long time for coffee and juice and for dirty dishes to be cleared away, the staff were very conspicuous by their absence
