I would stay again if I visited Newport, RI.
Liked: Beautiful room with plenty of storage. Muffled noise really well. I never heard my neighbors coming and going. Also, the staff were all attentive and polite.
Disliked: I didn't like that I couldn't turn the fan down or off. My room was across from the roof top patio and the music was very loud. It felt like the music was right in my room.

Liked: Hotel Viking is an impressive building with a perfect location for visiting Newport?s historic mansions, historic district and waterfront. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Service is top rate. While rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are a bit dated with shower/tubs and separate sink area. Walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants. Parking is offered, but we found parking on the street available for free from 1800-0800. Our only issue with the hotel is the $30 per person mandatory ?resort fee?. The fee is buried on hotel and online travel agent sites such as Booking.com. Many of the amenities offered for this fee are only available on the weekend. Others include access to the fitness center and pool which should be free. According to the front desk staff management is looking at the fee and expanding offerings and their availability. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel, just be aware of all costs when booking.

Very nice because we were...
Liked: Location is great. 90% of staff was great.
Disliked: The rooms were a disaster. Finally settled on the fourth room. On a side note, the GM asked for my evaluation and he never got back to me, I don't think management cares a damn about the customers. They have a great location so they know they will get people along with a beautiful roof top deck.

Good, but pricey for what...
Liked: The valet attendants were wonderful. Check-in was smooth, easy & our room was ready a little earlier than actual check-in time.
Disliked: Room was very small for a suite with 3 people. There were additional fees I was not made aware of. We were asked at check-in if we would need the pull out bed made up. We said yes, but when we got back from dinner around 10pm it was not made. We called & someone came to do it, but it was about 20 mins wait. Would also have expected more towels, coffee, & cups knowing we had three people staying in the suite. It was set up for 2 people.

Will never stay again.
Disliked: 500.00 for a super tiny room. No coffee in room. Not worth the money at All.
